chapter eight

A buzzer echoed throughout the room, thundering footsteps followed.

Sylvia shuffled completely upright, her hands shaking slightly.

"Where were you two going?" The Leader questioned with a taunting smirk, clicking his tongue.

The Munson teen watched as her two friends were pulled up, the chair thudding against the floor.

The leader leaned forward so that he was eye level with Steve. "Try telling the truth this time, yes? It will make your visit with Dr Zharkov less painful."

Sylvia watched as a man who appeared to be 'the doctor' stalked towards Steve. She wrenched at her hands, trying to tug herself free. "Hey, leave him alone."

"Quiet, little one." The leader commanded.

"Okay! Wait! Wait! What is that thing?" Steve began panicking as the doctor stepped closer.

"It will help you talk." The Doctor announced, a sinister smile painting his face. He punctured Steve's neck while the boy screams in fear.

The doctor then moves onto Robin, repeating his actions. Then stepping towards Sylvia.

The brunette backed away as far as she could, small whimpers escaping her lips.

"Please... please don't." She begged.

Around thirty minutes had passed since the group had been injected with the unknown drug.

Sylvia sat in the corner starry eyed, her head rested against the wall behind her.

"Honestly, I don't really feel anything." Steve confesses. "Do you guys?"

"I feel great." Sylvia smiled.

"I mean, I... I feel fine. I feel normal." Robin shares.

"Yeah, I feel... I feel fine." Steve agrees. "I kinda feel good."

The trio all chuckle in amusement.

"Wanna know a secret?" Robin laughs.

"What?" Steve asks.

"Tell us." Sylvia urges in excitement.

"I like it, too!" Robin beams.

"Morons. They messed up the drug." Steve chuckled.

"Morons!" Sylvia yelled out.

"Morons! Hey, morons!" The trio all yelled, giggling between each word.

"Whoa-oh." Steve cheered.

"Oh, no. There's definitely something wrong with us." Robin chuckles.

"A thousand percent." Sylvia smiles.

The door buzzer echoes, the Russian soldiers marching in again.

"Hey, guys." Sylvia attempted to whisper to her two friends, only to in fact be yelling. "Should we tell them they gave us the wrong drugs?"
