"I finally got you & I'm not letting you go, baby."

Ashton's P.O.V

I loved having Manny back in town. It was great to spend a few days with him where we could go back to our old favorite spots, see all of our old friends together, just catch up without it being over the phone or through text.

But in the back of my mind, I knew something was up with Ronnie & I had no idea what it was but there was this rain cloud over my thoughts the entire time Manny was here because of it.

It was now late on a Sunday night & I hadn't seen her since Friday night...I know that's only two days but that's the longest I've gone without seeing her since we started dating. Her window curtains even stayed shut these past two days.

Ashton-

Manny's gone. can i come over now?

Ronnie-

sure. let yourself in.

I walked next door & I did as she said, letting myself in the front door & locking it behind me. We had school tomorrow & her parents were already in bed but I just felt like locking it. Manny took advance courses at his school so he was finished with classes already which was why he had time to come out for a visit.

I made my way up to Ronnie's room. Her door was cracked open & I could tell she only had her desk lamp on.

I peaked my head in her room to see Ronnie sitting at her desk. She had her glasses on, her hair was in a messy side pony tail, she was in a pair of shorts & she had a jumper of mine on.

It was my favorite look of Ronnie's.

It was the real Ronnie.

"Hi." I whispered so I wouldn't scare her.

"Oh. Hi Ashton." She said with a soft smile. I walked over to her desk & I gave her cheek a kiss.

"I missed you. I know it's only been two days but I missed you."

"That's cute, Ash."

"Come sit with me. I wanna talk to you." I reached out for Ronnie's hands & I guided her onto her bed. I sat with my back against her pillows & I pulled Ronnie on top of me so her head was resting on my chest. I began playing with her hair as she was literally curled on my lap.

"Ronnie?"

"Yea?"

"Are you sure you're okay?"

"Yes, I told you, I'm okay, babe."

"Okay then I have a different question."

"What is it?"

"Are we okay?"

Ronnie then looked up at me, right into my eyes.

"What do you mean?"

"Just what I said. Are we okay?"

"Why would you even ask that?"

"I don't know. The past few days you've been like a little bit more distant with me & it's kind of scaring me. Like you're more hesitant to kiss me or come cuddle with me. You didn't want to sit on my lap at the bonfire & you left early. Something just feels off between us & I'm worried that we're like over our sweet spot already."

"Oh Ashton, no. Don't think that. Please don't think that."

"Then tell me why you're acting this way. What should I be thinking? Did I do something?"
