"Well I was wishing it was you."
Ashton's P.O.V
Here I was, not kissing Ronnie, when I felt a tap on my shoulder.
I pulled away from Stacey's lips, which I was actually happy about, when I saw a pissed off Michael behind me.
"Excuse me Stacey. I need to talk to my friend over here." He grabbed my arm & he dragged me out the back door. "What the hell are you doing?"
"What do you mean? Shouldn't I be asking you the same?"
"What do you mean?" Michael yelled at me. "Why are you kissing Stacey?"
"Because you're into Ronnie, apparently."
"Where the hell did you get that fucking idea?"
"You've been next to her the entire night. You were all touchy, you hugged her, I'm sure you're about to kiss her too."
"You have it all wrong."
"I know what I saw."
"Ronnie came to help me talk to Rosa. I am interested in Rosa, not Ronnie, remember? I needed help. She knows Rosa's friend Gracie so she's been helping me. You are so fucking stupid, Ashton."
"Oh." That's the only word I could manage to say.
"Let me get this straight. You kissed Stacey because you thought I was into Ronnie?"
"Well yea. I guess so. I mean I was jealous I guess."
"Because you like Ronnie."
"I never said that."
"Just admit it dude, please. It'll make everyone's life a lot easier. Just admit you like Ronnie."
"I don't like Ronnie!"
"Yes you do! & now she's crying in my car currently so good job."
"Shit, she's crying? Let me go talk to her. I can explain it."
"No, let me take her home. You figure out your feelings & stop hurting the girl, okay? Because we all know you like her & all you're doing is breaking the girl's heart."
Michael turned around & he left.
What the fuck did I just do tonight?
I didn't even say bye to Stacey, I just walked outside to my own car.
Once inside, I punched the steering wheel a few times to get out my anger.
If I drove home fast enough, maybe I'd be able to catch up to Michael & stop Ronnie before she went into her house.
I pulled up to my house, driving a bit over the speed limit & sure enough, she was just getting out of Michael's car, waving bye to him.
I waited a second before I opened my door.
"Ronnie!" I called out. "Wait a second."
"Not tonight Ashton, seriously." She wiped underneath her eye. She really had cried.
"No, please. Talk to me for a second."
"Why? Where's Stacey? Should I keep my window closed tonight?"
"I don't give a fuck about Stacey. I was just kissing her, it meant nothing."
"Well aren't you a gentleman. I knew you always looked at girls like objects."
"I don't! Ronnie, just talk to me."
She took a step off her porch & she walked towards me.
"What do you want to say? I've just about had it tonight so please make it short."
