Ronnie's P.O.V
This was it.
Battle of the Bands was happening tonight.
There were ten bands playing & I saw on the sheet we were 7th while 5sos were playing 4th.
Before the show began, there were just a massive amount of people running around backstage, trying to get their soundcheck in, trying to find their dressing room & everything but even in that chaos, I was able to avoid Ashton.
We were sharing out dressing room with the band playing 8th. It was just these three guys who were all a bit older than us but they seemed nice so I didn't mind sharing the room. If anything, they were super supportive of us being younger & doing shows like this.
Before we went on, we were all trying to relax & chill. Although we had time since we were 7th, I wanted to be totally ready for the show.
"I'm going to go fill up my water bottle. I'll be back." I told my guys.
I made my way down the hall, looking for the bathroom & the water fountain & on my walk, I saw Michael.
Since Ashton & I cut ties, I stopped talking to his other band mates too which I missed a bit since they were cool guys.
Michael gave me a slight wave.
"Hi Michael." He smiled as soon as he heard me say hi.
"She speaks!" He ran over to me & he gave me a hug. "I've missed you. How have you been?"
"Uhm, I've been alright considering. Are you ready for tonight?"
"I think so. What about you guys?"
"We're ready. We have a new song we're playing."
"So do we!" Michael exclaimed. "I'm so excited for it!"
"Oh, cool. I guess it's the battle of the originals then."
"Ours is about you." Michael smiled. "& guess who wrote it."
"Michael, I don't want to talk about him anymore, please." I started to walk back towards our room. I knew it was a bad idea to talk to Michael.
"Do you have like two minutes, Ronnie? Please?"
"Why?"
"You don't have to talk about Ashton but let me."
"Michael."
"No Ronnie. Listen to me. I know the past ten year Ashton has been a dick to you & I don't know why but I do know it was for stupid reasons, probably just because his friend moved away or something. But this past month or so, Ashton has completely fallen for you. I've never seen him so emotional & vulnerable as he has been. I mean god he wouldn't shut up about how gorgeous you were, how silly you were, how good of a kisser you were. I know that the way these situations have gone down have made it seem like it was all his fault but they're just huge miscommunications. I know it broke his heart that he didn't stay the night after the concert. He honestly thought he'd get you in trouble. But I know that seeing Green Day & spending that night with you was his favorite memory. He said multiple times you were different. He said being with a girl he cared about was so different & he loved it. He honestly did just tell Calum. I heard through people talking at school as well, he didn't even tell me! I heard from someone who heard from someone else. What you don't know is that he did defend you. He told people to stop talking about something that wasn't their business. He did try to stop it. & he had absolutely nothing to do with the Kenny situation. Stacey called him while we were at Luke's & said she heard Kenny was using you. Ashton sped to the apartment & he freaked out when he thought you were upstairs with Kenny in the room. He had no idea you were alone. & before you ask, he was only laughing because he found it hilarious that Kenny thought he had a chance with you. He honestly had not a thing to do with it. Ashton really likes you. He's never felt like this about someone before & that's why the song we're singing tonight is about you. I heard the first line when he showed us the song & I knew it was about you. We learned it in two days & he wants to perform this for you. Ashton wants you. He's been miserable ever since you stopped talking to him. He just wants you Ronnie, he really just wants you."
