"It's okay. I'm used to it."

Ashton's P.O.V

Eight Years Old

"Daddy! You have to teach me how to ride a bike! I'm the only kid in my class that doesn't know how!" I heard Ronnie yell at her dad through my window. If her parents couldn't hear, why did she still yell? I looked outside & I saw Ronnie standing on her driveway with a new bike next to her & her dad was signing something back to her.

I learned how to ride a few years ago with Manny & his dad. My mom was at work but when she came home, I rode right to her. I'll never forget how proud she was of me.

But I can't believe Ronnie hasn't learned yet.

I knew she'd fall a lot, & that would make me laugh, so I decided to watch her learn.

I went downstairs & I sat outside on my front porch to watch.

"Hi Ashton." Her dad yelled as he waved at me. I just waved back. "I'm teaching Ronnie to ride a bike. Do you know how to ride?"

"Yea." I nodded again.

"Hi Ashton." Ronnie smiled as she looked at me. "How are you?"

"Fine." I mumbled as I tried to look away from her. I was mean to her. Why was she still nice to me?

Mr. Rockford was removing the training wheels & Ronnie was jumping around with joy. "I can't wait to learn how to ride on two wheels daddy! I can't wait!"

Ronnie's dad was facing the bike, not his daughter, so he couldn't hear her excitement & that made me a little sad since she was literally filled with pure excitement right now.

Ronnie's dad would never be able to her Ronnie's voice actually like ever. Even though I don't like her, her voice is sweet, but he'd never know the sound of it.

I watched Ronnie for literally five hours try to ride her bike. She never gave up & she never cried, no matter how hard she fell. I won't lie, Ronnie took a few nasty falls onto the street or into a tree...but she'd always stand back up, brush it off & get back on her bike until she could ride & stop without her dad's help.

It was cute to see her share this moment with her dad.

But it was one I couldn't share with mine.

That's another reason why I hate Ronnie.

She has a mommy & a daddy.

"Dude!" Michael yelled as he threw his lunch on the table.

"What?" Luke asked, his mouth full of a bite from his sandwich.

"You're never going to guess who my partner is for this English project!"

"Rosa? That hot girl you've been drooling over?" I asked. It had to be her. Why else would Michael be so worked up over a damn English partner.

"No but I wish! Guess again!"

"I'm not playing a game." Calum shook his head. "Who is your partner?"

"Ronnie."

I almost choked on my food. "Who?"

"You heard me. It's Ronnie. We have to read that book together & then write the report by next week."

"But you're partners with Ronnie?"

"For the last time, yes Ashton. I am partners with Ronnie. She's coming over this weekend to work on it."
