"Why did you make me do it?" I ask Mack, while we walk down all the long hallways.
"Make you do what?" he asks.
"Burn down.. You know." I say back.
"When people threaten my work I will take action Callie. And I always will."
"What work?" I ask.
"The work I do with people like us." he says. I look at the floor. "Callie, you're different you know that?" he asks.
"Yea I know, but I'm just curious. How so?" I ask him.
"People with elemental based powers don't really... exist anymore. Like people with Earth, Wind, Water and Fire don't exist anymore." Mack says blankly.
"What are you talking about? Wait you mean Eve is..." I ask.
"Yep, and you too."
"So I shouldn't be alive right now?"
"No that's not what I said, I'm saying that your power shouldn't be what it is because it's an elemental based power. "
"That makes no sense." I say.
"It doesn't have to make sense," he says.
"Why are you telling me this now?" He doesn't say anything. I think that was the end of the conversation.
