Over My Head (Cable Car) - The Fray
Vienna - The Fray

"No, sir, it doesn't seem like her quirk has manifested yet. No, I haven't seen any changes with her yet, except that she's been talking to herself more and likes sleeping in the dark now. I'm not sure, some kids are just like that. Yes, sir, of course. Goodbye." A woman hung up her phone while she stood in the kitchen. "Nara, hurry! You're going to be late for school!" She shouted. A little girl with short black hair ran into the kitchen, wearing a headband around her head, its lavender color matching her shirt. Her white skirt fluttered as she jumped up to grab her lunch bag from the counter. "Sorry, Nanny, I'll see you later!" Nara exclaimed before rushing to the door, putting her white sneakers and purple backpack on. She hurried out the door and ran down the street, hoping she'll make it to school on time.

Nara entered her classroom just as the bell rang, and she hung up her backpack with a sigh of relief. "Made it just in time, huh, Kuro?" She said with a smile. 'Yup. We're going to have to be careful not to stay up too late next time, though.' Kuro told her in her head, and Nara nodded in agreement. She gasped as she saw a head of spiky hair, ducking away to hide behind a desk before peeking out to look at him. "Kuro, look! Katsuki's here!" She squealed, feeling her stomach flutter from excitement. 'He's always here on time.' Kuro reminded her, and the teacher told everyone to go in their seats.

Nara was practically bouncing in her seat, impatient for the class to end, and when the bell rang, she jumped up from her seat. "This is it, Kuro! I'm gonna tell Katsuki how I really feel!" She said, raising her fists in determination. 'Be careful, Nara. He doesn't seem to be that interested.' Kuro warned, but Nara ignored her as she followed Katsuki, Izuku and their friends outside. "Katsuki!" She called, and the boys stopped and turned to her as she ran up to them. She shuffled a bit nervously as they stared at her, then took a breath to calm herself. "Katsuki, I really like you and think you're cool! Please date me!" She exclaimed, bowing to him and squeezing her eyes shut in anticipation and slight fear.

"Eww, did you hear what she said?" "Yeah, I can't believe she said that. Dating is grownup stuff and gross, right Katsuki?" Nara looked up in shock at the other two boys' words, then looked at Katsuki nervously. He stared shocked and blank at her for a moment, Izuku looking back and forth between the two in worry. At the other boys' words, Katsuki frowned at Nara before pushing her back. She yelped as she fell on her butt, and she looked up at the boys with tears in her eyes, Kuro growling in her head. "You're right, I'm cool and deserve to be liked by everyone, but dating is gross! And if you're wanting to date, then that means you're gross too!" Katsuki told her, pointing at her face as the other two boys laughed.

"Gross girl, gross girl!" "She talks to herself too, which means that she gross, creepy and weird!" The boys exclaimed. "I don't want someone like that near me. You should just go away!" Katsuki shouted before erupting explosions from his hands. Nara yelped and scrambled back, and Izuku touched Katsuki's shoulder. "Kacchan, maybe we should stop-" "What, are you agreeing with her? You wanna be gross like her?" Katsuki questioned. "N-no, I-I mean-" Izuku stammered. At that point, Nara was fed up and heartbroken. She ran to the restroom, crying all the way there, and locked herself in a stall as she sobbed.

The rest of the year, Katsuki and his other two friends bullied Nara, shoving her to the ground, throwing small things at her during class behind the teacher's back, seeking her out to throw food, drinks, dirt and mud at her after school. Izuku only timidly watched from the side, too scared to stop them or get help and too close with Katsuki to betray him. Nara's nanny was also displeased every time she came home a mess. "Why do you always end up like this?" She questioned Nara, and she sheepishly laughed and scratched her head. "I'm sorry, I guess I'm just clumsy." She said. Like Izuku, she was too scared to fight back or ask for help, afraid that things might get worse.
