4. The First Trial

Peach: Mario! I know you're in there! Open up!

Peach pounded on Mario's door furiously, waiting to be let in. Meggy was already well hidden inside the house when Luigi came to answer the door quickly to try and de-escalate the situation. He also tried to play dumb in order to not give anyone up.

As he opened the door, Peach pushed it open and forced her way past him.

Luigi: Peach? What's going on?

Peach: Where's that Cheating scumbag?

Luigi: Woah. Cheating? Did Mario do something?

Peach: That bastard went on a date with someone else!

Luigi: H-He did?

It was much harder than he thought to lie. He was at least glad Peach was buying it.

Peach: Yes! Now where is he!?

Luigi: Uhh...He, might be in his room. I'll go get him.

Peach: No. I'm talking to him myself.

Peach forced her way past him, but Luigi was able to put himself in her way before she could reach Mario's room.

Peach: What do you think you're doing?

Luigi: Please, Peach. Let me at least try to talk to him? Just enough time to try and get a sense of what's happening so I can help?

Peach: No. Stay out of this, Luigi. You're not the one I'm mad at, but I'm about to be.

She pushes Luigi to the side again and stops at Mario's bedroom door.

Peach: Mario! Goddammit! Open this door!

Mario: Just a second!

Peach: Don't you "Just a second" me! Get out here! Now!

Mario opens the door, clearly distraught.

Mario: Baby, it's not what it looks like.

Peach: Don't you dare call me that!

Mario: I swear to you! Me and Meggy just hung out last night! It wasn't even a date! I'm not into her that way!

Peach: You still should've ran this by me before going out!

Mario: We're not even married yet!

Peach: Well it's about to not even happen!

Mario: WHAT!?

Peach: You heard me.

Mario: No! Please don't do that, Peach! I'm sorry! I'm so so very sorry! I won't ever do something like that again!

Luigi looked over to see that Douglas was frozen in place standing nearby. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.

Peach: You better not! I don't even want to see you with that bitch again! Do you hear me!?
