Bucky tried going after Steve, and he did his hardest to get to the Captain, clearly, Steve ran over to his friend and tried saving him from dying, Bucky glared at his attempts to get him to remember, but he didn't remember Steve, he couldn't remember. After being let free, Bucky beat the living crap out of Steve as he tried to get him to remember, it was confusing for him, he couldn't remember anything, not even what Aurora showed him about Steve.

It was only that one saying that got Bucky to stop, that one line that made him stop, that one simple saying that the two would to each other back in the 40s, it was like a switch went off in his mind, it was confusing and he couldn't really make anything out in his mind, Bucky watched as Steve fell from the helicarrier, bruised and unconscious. Bucky turned to the girl who was practically buried in metal, he ran to her, moving as much as he could off of her and carefully picked her up, not wanting to injure her more than he already had.

He rested a kiss on her forehead, tears swelling in his eyes, he felt his heart shatter as he stared at her broken form, the brunette girl took shallow breaths, he stared at her in pain and in fear, the brunette girl didn't look like herself, she looked broken and damaged, he just wanted to go back and make it be that she didn't go through this. Make it be that the girl didn't feel any pain or that she never met him so she didn't have to feel the pain that she went through.

Bucky felt horrible, he hurt her, and he pretty much killed her, she didn't even look alive but he knew that she was all he wanted, the only thing that he wanted to do was take away her pain and take away any pain she still felt from what she went through with Hydra.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry... I didn't want to hurt you, I didn't want you to get hurt. I couldn't stop... I wanted to stop but I couldn't. I'm sorry." Bucky wished that she could hear it, hear his apology he knew she would accept but it didn't change the fact of the position he placed her in.

Aurora hung limply in his arms, he checked her pulse, it was there but it was weak and he needed to get her to the hospital himself. Bucky felt horrible for what he did to Aurora, he felt horrible for hurting her and almost killing her, and he felt horrible for being the reason that she could die. He never thought he would be the cause of that, never thought he would be the one hurting her.

Bucky held her close to his chest, wrapping his arms around her body, shielding her with his own body and keeping her secure in his arms as they fell down into the water. He landed in the water first, his back taking the blow, he brought Aurora to the surface, holding her and getting rid of the blood that was washing away in the water and brushing her hair out of the way.

Aurora stirred slightly against his chest, he supported her head, checking on her to see if she would come to but it didn't prove to be likely, the girl flopped against his chest and all her deadweight pushed him down into the water. Bucky pushed himself back up, making sure her head was out of the water and swam to the shore. Bucky carefully rested Aurora on the dirt, staring at her the way Ariel does in the Little Mermaid when she rescues Prince Eric and stroked her hair for a moment before turning around to look in the direction Steve was sinking in the lake.

The man dragged Steve out of the water, which was a hell of a lot harder than it was with Aurora and rested him near the girl. Bucky walked back to the girl, rested a kiss on her forehead, glancing at her softly before noticing something falling out of her pocket and cautiously grabbed it off the floor.

The man inspected the outside of the box, carefully opening it, and turning to the girl once he saw the rings. He stared at the rings, having a feeling that it was their rings from back in the day, they looked well preserved and they rang a bell in the corner of his mind. Bucky felt bad for taking them, yet he need something to hold onto, something to help him remember, so he left with them in his hand and left the two with the hopes of them gaining medical care.

Aurora woke up, fear invading her as she heard the beeping, yet she felt a small hand grab her with a reassuring grip. She turned to see her sister, looking at her worriedly and sternly. Aurora smiled softly at Jessie, glad to see she was okay, glad to see that her baby sister wasn't hurt and appeared healthy.

"Jessie, sweetie, are you okay?" Aurora stared at her sister in shock as she slapped her, the eldest made a face as to why her sister hit her.

"You promised me you wouldn't get hurt!" Jessie hugged her sister, making sure to not injure her any more than she already was and looked at her tearfully.

"I'm sorry Jessie, I tried my best, I didn't mean to scare you. I really didn't mean to scare you." Jessie nodded, knowing that her sister was only trying to help the man that did a lot for them both, Aurora made room for Jessie on the bed and listened to the girl's question.

"Is he okay?"

"I think so, I got injured pretty quickly in the final battle so I didn't know what happened to him but I think he got away."

"That's good, isn't it?"

"Yeah, that's good," Aurora reassured, the eldest got her sister to get her chart, and she read over it to see her status and the state that she was in. Overall, she had a few broken ribs, many cuts and bruises, lots of blood loss which had been replaced with blood transfusions and sustained head injuries that hadn't resulted in major damage but enough so it would hurt for a few days.

If she really wanted to, she knew what the hospital staff would say, yet she knew how the next few days would roll out if she did things how she wanted to do them. Aurora thanked Jessie as she placed the chart back where it belonged. She was in for two days before she was discharged, Aurora grabbed two bags for Jessie and herself to dump items into, the clothes they wanted to keep and things they wanted to take with them. The two girls walked to the Smithsonian, looking around at everything, including the Captain America exhibit, Aurora was walking past Bucky's section, with a smaller section of her life back in the 40s beside his one.

Aurora stood beside the man, staring at his biography hanging from the ceiling with a portrait of himself beside the information that somebody provided about his life. She hid a smile as she noticed a photo of the two, smiling at each other and looking all lovey-dovey and happy as they stared at each other.
