Aurora glanced at the camera as it powered up, she felt more uncomfortable feeling as if there was more to the computing system than the trio realised. Something did start to feel different in the room, her attention turned to the computer hearing a voice.

"Initiate system?"

"Y-E-S spells yes."

"Shall we play a game? It's from a movie." Natasha turned to Steve with a bright and cheeky smile, however, he didn't seem to be phased by the joke.

"I know. I saw it." Aurora watched as a computed face appeared, green and glitchy with details but however, the man did seem oddly familiar like she knew him from something and that it wasn't from her memories but someone else's

"Rogers. Steven. Born 1918." The camera turned to Natasha, a foreign accent speaking through the robotic system.

"Romanoff. Natalia Alianovna. Born 1984." The camera moved once again, 'staring' at Aurora as it searched its' system for her name and birthdate.

"Williams. Aurora. Born in 1918. Born again in 1988." It was impossible for this thing to know that, how did it know that? Her mind was running with questions, it was causing her heart to beat faster and her hands to sweat, this was too fucking much, she wasn't ready. Why did she agree to do this?

"It's some kind of recording?"

"I am not a recording. Fraulein. I may not be the man I was when the Captain took me, prisoner, in 1945. But I am..."

"You know this thing?"

"Arnim Zola was a German scientist who worked for the Red Skull. He's been dead for years."

"First correction. I am Swiss. Second, look around you. I have never been more alive."

"You're the asshole that experimented on Bucky! You destroyed him!" Aurora cried out, the realisation coming once she realised she was remembering Bucky's thoughts when he was first being experimented on by the man. It seemed to ignore her as it continued its little backstory, explaining what was happening and how everything came to be.

"In 1972, I received a terminal diagnosis. Science could not save my body, My mind, however, that was worth saving on 200.000 feet of databanks. You are standing in my brain."

"How did you get here?"

"Invited."

"It was Operation Paperclip after World War II. S.H.I.E.L.D recruited German scientists with strategic value."

"They thought I could help their cause. I also helped my own."

"Hydra died with the Red Skull."

"Cut off one more head, two more shall take its place."

"Prove it."

"Hydra was founded on the belief that humanity could not be trusted with its own freedom. What we did not realise was that if you try to take that freedom they resist. The war taught us much. Humanity needed to surrender its freedom willingly. After the war, S.H.I.E.L.D was founded and I was recruited. The new Hydra grew. A beautiful parasite inside S.H.I.E.L.D. For 70 years, Hydra has been secretly feeding crisis, reaping war and when history did not cooperate, history was changed."

Aurora clenched her eyes shut seeing glimpses of photos of herself as Winter's Princess and The Winter Soldier fighting side by side. Neither of their faces was shown but it didn't change the fact that it hurt seeing herself that way again and seeing Bucky in that light again.

"That's impossible. S.H.I.E.L.D would have stopped you."

"Accidents happen. Hydra created a world so chaotic that humanity is finally ready to sacrifice its freedom to gain its security. Once a purification process is complete, Hydra's new world order will arise. We won, Captain. Your death amounts to the same as your life. A zero-sum. Just talk to Aurora, hear her experiences with Hydra." Steve hit the screen in anger, thinking that it would destroy the system but it did not, Zola appeared on a tinier screen and taunted them as it waited for Aurora to share her story.

"Your little mind reader is a prime example. Tell them somnambul" Aurora shifted uncomfortably as they stared at her, she shook her hands nervously and grimaced as they waited for her to explain.

"Hydra... they're the ones that kidnapped me and my sister, they held us for four years, where they tortured me and left me to die too many times." She left out information, she didn't want them to know about her past as WInter's Princess and didn't want to tell them about Bucky as she honestly didn't know if he was alive any longer.

"What? You didn't think to mention that!" Steve shouted at the girl who stepped back in fear, instinctively going to raise her hands to cover her ears and looked at him fearfully.

"I didn't know they meant anything! After I got out... Fury came to us- he kept us off the books. My sister and I have been in our apartment for the last eight months. Neither of us is ready to come out of there, I was pressured into doing this, but I'm not. I'm not ready!" Her sobs shook the room, Steve stared at her feeling guilty over his outburst and went to step forward to comfort her but it was no use. She still kept her hands over her ears, her mind not letting her drop her defences as the two Avengers stared at her in pity after hearing more about her story.

"As I was saying..."

"What's on this drive?"

"Project insight requires insight. So, I wrote an algorithm."

"What kind of algorithm? What does it do?"

"The answer to your question is fascinating, unfortunately, you shall be too dead to hear it." The doors started closing, and Aurora dropped to her knees in panic, crying more as her emotions stormed inside her, she could feel the powers inside her storming, she couldn't bring herself back down. Hydra experimented on her, enhancing her capabilities to be more powerful when she couldn't control her emotions, they planned to make it be that when she was feeling drastic emotions that her powers would be more harmful but they never got to do it in time.

"I am afraid I have been stalling, Captain. Admit it. It's better this way. We are, both of us, out of time." Aurora pushed herself up as Natasha yelled at her to get up, she ran to the hole with Natasha and jumped inside it. Steve shielded all three of them with the shield but the sound almost paralysed Aurora with fear, she couldn't think nor move, she couldn't have the idea to use her telekinesis to move the rocks. It was too much for her to handle.

Eventually, Natasha became unconscious, Aurora was able to push past her fear and use her powers to get them out by moving the debris with a wave of her hand. Steve carried Natasha out, they ran away upon seeing  S.H.I.E.L.D gathering around them.

"Where are we going, Steve?" Aurora questioned quietly, he was tense and looking angry but he seemed to regret the way he reacted to her earlier in the building.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have yelled at you, it doesn't make it any better, I'm sorry."

"Doesn't matter, they screwed me over, I'm all over the place," Aurora muttered, still waiting to hear what Steve had to say about where they would show up.

"We're going to a friend's."

The trio made it to Sam Wilson's place of residence, the three of them looked exhausted, dirty and beaten. Aurora looked distant once they made it to a place of 'safety' she still had the mentality that nowhere was in fact safe, she didn't know if that feeling would ever go away. The brunette hadn't said a word to anyone, she kept quiet and avoided talking to any of them.

Aurora had cleaned the dirt from her face, cleaned the dirt off her hair, sat away from everyone and fiddled with her hands. Sam called her down for breakfast while he gathered the other two, Aurora eat silently listening in to what they had to say and thinking about how even now that she was free, Hydra was still holding her down.

"So, the question is, who at S.H.I.E.l.D could launch a domestic missile strike?"

"Pierce." Aurora choked on her food, she stared at the two and cleared her throat to say something about the name just spoken.
