Aurora's life became a routine; she would patch Bucky up, get tortured, use her magic on Bucky and would learn to spar with Bucky. They were training her to be ready for missions, ready to fight alongside him and gain access to the information Hydra wanted. Instead of wiping her mind to make her compliant, they tortured her and that made her compliant.
The outfit they put her in was pretty similar to Bucky's, she had a similar vest and fingerless gloves. They had the same mask, and goggles, she had the same heavy-duty boots and a long skirt layering over a shorter skirt. Making it look like she was from Assassin's Creed, she was skilled enough to be able to fight in it, Aurora caught onto how to fight pretty quickly and became better than what Hydra had seen in a long time.
Bucky walked alongside Aurora to the helicopter, this was the first time she had been sent out, the first time she had seen the real world in ages and it scared her. Aurora came along to make extracting the information easier, it was her only use for these missions and she was useless otherwise.
The brunettes sat in silence as they were shipped to the new location, Bucky looked anywhere but at the girl, keeping his stoic and emotionless look. Aurora followed Bucky to their hideout, he began going through her job and her duties for this mission, he could see in her eyes how aware she was of everything and knew that no matter which way this went that she would suffer the consequences.
They began by going to the location of their target, tracking him down and doing what they had to do in order to get this man at his weakest. They broke into his house, Bucky going through his stuff as Aurora waited to hear him coming, the brunette man saw the signal, and they both fell into place and waited for the man to get into his home.
Aurora's first reaction to Bucky's attack on the man was to flinch but it didn't last long. Bucky got the man in a compromising position, got him to feel pain and then called the girl forth, she came out of hiding and stared at the man. Focusing on the information she was told to get, searching his mind for the memories and thoughts that she needed.
"Who the fuck are you two! What are you doing in my home?" The girl didn't answer, she was too focused on his mind, Bucky on the other hand took an intimidating approach.
"You took what they want, we're getting it from you."
"Took what! I am not a thief, you're girlfriend looks like she's a hormonal bitch! Who set you up for this, was it, Toby?" The soldier hit the man along the back of the head, giving the girl the time she needed to concentrate, Bucky took the insult a little too personally that he made about the brunette. Aurora gained the information about some secret formula, she was only to gain the information and not ask about the whys or hows. She glanced at Bucky nodding and he took a step towards the window, checking their surroundings before they prepared to leave.
They both underestimated this man's abilities, he had a hidden gun on him, he shot the girl twice and it was the last mistake he'd ever make as Bucky shot him in the head. The soldier strode over to the girl, sweeping her up in his arms and making a run for it outside. In a matter of seconds, he made it to the safe house and placed the girl on a table before grabbing the first aid kit. He assessed her for a moment, seeing where both of the wounds were and then watching the look she made as she shifted in pain.
"Just push the skirt to the side, I need to fix the wound."
"I can do it myself, it's just a thigh shot."
"You can barely sit up with that wound in your side, I'm doing this." Aurora huffed, yet moved the skirt to the side, Bucky started cleaning, removing and stitching the wound up, minding her privacy, and making sure that she didn't look uncomfortable.
"I need you to remove your shirt." Aurora removed her shirt, sitting in her bra and avoiding Bucky's eyes as her wounds became more visible. He saw the scars littering her body, saw the amount of damage she encountered from the people working in Hydra. The man looked away, from the rest of her body and focused on the bullet wound. Aurora tensed as he placed his hand on her side, the area sensitive just in general, he took a step back to allow her to see there was no threat and once she relaxed went back to help her. He removed the bullet, cleaning the dry blood and stitching it up, he placed a large padded bandage on the wound and looked into her eyes.
"Every day, they take me into a different room, finding new ways to torture me... finding new ways to make me more insecure and humiliated. They never stop hurting me, with every step I take, I'm in pain and the nightmares are so persistent that I cannot breathe." Aurora held back her tears, holding her shirt in her hands as Bucky stared at her and felt his emotions come forth for the girl.
"If my little sister wasn't in the picture, I would've let them kill me, I would let them kill me but I can't let them kill me because of my sister and she- I don't know what would happen if I wasn't around to keep her safe. Every day... I wish I would die, to stop feeling the pain, every day I want something- someone to end my life... so I wouldn't be in pain." Aurora pushed herself up, standing chest to chest with Bucky, he stared at the marks on her body and watched as she stepped to the side to get away.
"I am going to change, they gave us clothes, yeah? The same shit I have to wear when they torture me, yeah? The same fucking tank top and sweats? The ones that half of my blood has stained?" Bucky nodded, struggling to capture his words, the girl walked to a room, changed and sat in silence.
10 minutes later, Bucky entered the room, his hair wet and only in pants. He didn't have the ability to acknowledge certain boundaries, such as what he was doing right now if it made the girl uncomfortable he would do something about it but he didn't have the ability to choose it himself.
Bucky sat across from her, the two just stared, at each other before Bucky moved closer to her. Aurora bit her lip, trying to bite back the tears, trying her hardest to prevent them from coming out of her tears. The emotions were very present, the girl seemed to have enough tears to last her a century, she hadn't reached that point of being numb yet, and still had the ability to cry and release tears but he didn't get how when he kept seeing the broken girl.
