Percy POV

I was in the car driving to school.

Now I actually shouldn't be going to school. Or driving. Or really doing any of this.

I was still sick, I had a fever of like 99.9 or something. It had been 2 days since Nico and Will came over. August 16. I knew I wasn't contagious because I know why I'm sick.

I didn't think possession was contagious. Wait. Is it?

No. Possession is not contagious, idiot. It can only spread if I want to possess other people. Which I don't. Tartarus said.

Hey! You don't have to call me an idiot! You're the idiot! I argued.

He ignored me. That was probably for the better, considering I had to focus while driving and I already have a cloudy mind.

Wait, I forgot to tell you why I have to go to school when I'm sick.

So basically, Tony said that if I didn't get better soon, he would have to take me to the doctor. I think "demonic possession" would be pretty hard to explain.

I am so not a demon! Came Tartarus's indignant cry.

I ignored him. Ha! Oh, how the turns have tabled!

Or is it "how the tables have turned"? I forget. Whatever.

I pulled into the school parking lot. Turned off my car, and grabbed my bag from the passenger seat.

Then, I was off to homeroom.

"Why are you here?!" Will shouted as I walked into class.

"Mr. Solace. Please refrain from yelling in my classroom. We are not kindergartners. I should not have to scold you about using your 'inside voice'." The teacher said.

I snickered.

"Oh, shut up." Will said, at a much lower volume.

"I'm here because it is technically required by the law." I told him.

"You're still sick." He stated.

"No, I'm not!" I argued.

"Yes, you are. I can tell. You also look freakishly pale. Almost as pale as Nico." He said.

"Whatever. Tony forced me to go to school. And I'm not contagious." I scoffed back.

"Why did he force you to go to school?! That's horrible! That's mistreatment! That's—that's—" He whisper-shouted as I sat down next to him.

"Outrageous?" I offered.

"Yes! You're sick. Here let me take your temperature." He beckoned me closer.

"With what? You have no thermometer. The teachers kept getting mad at you and you had to start leaving it at home." I told him.

"Actually, I have it in my backpack. I'm just not allowed to bring it out." He put his hand to my forehead. "Oh my gods! Your temperature is 101.5!"

"How do you do that? Your freaky Apollo powers." I muttered. "And shh! I don't want to get in trouble."

"Trouble? Trouble?! You have a weirdly high temperature, and your worried about getting in trouble with Mr. Sonarbee?!" He asked.

"Yeah. And 100 isn't that high." I dismissed.

"You had 101.5." He deadpanned.

"Okay." I turned away from him and started on my work.

"Hey! I'm not done with you." He scolded.

"That's too bad, 'cause I'm done with you." I told him.

"Rude. I'm just trying to help!" He said.

I started coming up my stuff. "I'm sorry. I'm tired and like you have taken very long to point out, I am also sick."

"You should go to the Nurse's Office!" He said, he too started to put his stuff away.

The bell rang. We walked out of class. Will ranting about how I should be at home and how I'm still sick and need rest.

I walked to my locker which was oh-so-conveniently placed right next to his. And Nico's, who started ganging up on me too.

"Oh my gods! Guys, cool it! I don't want to be here either but I have too! I'm not going home. So just, drop it!" I snapped, stalking off to my next class.

They all stood there for a second. Then, Nico stormed after me.

"Excuse me! That is so fucking insolent! Here I am worried about your health and you can't even bother to care! Well, you should!" Nico started yelling.

I walked off. I don't why but I just felt so annoyed. So angry. A random balloon of rage was just expanded from my chest.

Why was I feeling like this? I shouldn't be mad at him. He just cares. Same with everyone else.

"Just shut up, okay!" I turned and yelled. I didn't want to. I just couldn't seem to control it. It was like I wasn't in control of my mouth.

Everyone following me stopped dead in their tracks and stared. Mouths agape.

I covered my mouth. "Oh my gods. Nic, I-I am so sorry. I didn't mean it."

"No, it's fine. I get it. I won't bother you anymore." He turned and stalked off.

"No! Nico, I'm sorry!" I started after her.

Will grabbed my arm. "Dude. Calm down. What was that?"

"I don't know." I lied, looking down. But I did know. Tartarus was getting stronger. He was gaining more control over my emotions. Making me angrier.

He was taking over. I had tried to stop him but it hadn't worked. He's winning.

And no one even knew.

Chapter 14 done! I took a little break to spend some time with my family for the holidays. I will probably do that with every major holiday. Sorry for the inconvenience. Like I said I was also busy rewriting.
