Dinner - Chapter 4

Percy's POV

I reluctantly turned off my phone, grabbed my earbuds, and left my room to go eat dinner with my uncle and his "hero" friends. Let's just say, I was not excited.

I was having a wonderful time talking with Annabeth and I didn't even get a chance to actually make any actual plans, so we just had to leave everything up in the air, like usual.

I walked out into the kitchen, after not getting lost 5 times, and sat down. I looked around to see what we were having. Pizza.

I feel like that is one of the most basic dinners. Don't get me wrong, pizza is amazing. I love pizza. But, in every single movie when something significant happens to the family, they are usually always having pizza.

I grabbed a plate anyway and also took about 3 slices. I finally looked at the people around me, who had all been staring at me the entire time since I walked into the room, except for my uncle.

There was a red haired girl, a dirty blond haired guy, a blond guy, a salt and pepper hair guy that was wearing a lab coat, my uncle, and a tall, blonde guy that had long hair.

The last guy also had an aura of a god, but it wasn't Greek and didn't have the vibe of Roman. Maybe Norse. He didn't seem Egyptian. So, must be Norse. Judging by his hammer and clothing I would say, Thor.

Everyone was still staring, but I went back to my pizza. I still had my earbuds in. The music was blasting and I was about 75% sure that most likely everyone could hear it.

I gulped down the food and finally looked up. My uncle was trying to get my attention. I looked straight at him, so he know I noticed him, then I ignored him.

I checked the cabinets for a cup, found it on the first try by the way, and got myself some water.

Then, after the song ended, I took out my earbuds and saw everyone staring at me. Again. This time my uncle was with them but he was looking at me with an annoyed glare.

"What?" I asked.

My uncle said, "We're trying to talk to you!"

"Too bad." I shrugged and turned my back to them.

"Who are you?" The dirty blonde guy said.

"Nunya." I replied.

"Hmm?"

"Nun ya business."

"His name is Percy." My uncle butted in.

"Hey! Respect my boundaries. I didn't want them to know my name!" I turned on him.

My uncle looked at me with a slight raise in his brow. That started the stare-off.

"I'm Bruce, by the way!" The lab coat, scientist-y guy said.

Without looking at him, I stated "Nice." I felt rude saying it because he seemed like a good guy.

Finally Tony looked away and said, "Why don't we all introduce ourselves?"

"I was already introduced. And I don't care who any of these people are." I argued. My uncle had the audacity to ignore me! People were doing that a lot today. It was so rude.

"I'm Natasha." The ginger lady said.

"I'm Steve Rogers." The blonde guy said.

"I'm Thor!" The god boomed.

"And I'm Clint." The dirty blonde guy said.

"Cool," I said then turned to my uncle. "I'm going to my room now, because I don't want to be around you guys."

"Remember! I'll help you fix it up how you want it later this weekend!" Tony called after me.

"Sure, whatever." I replied, walking out.

When I got to my room I was feeling increasingly lonely. I wanted to call someone, talk to someone, see someone's face. But who? If I called Annabeth I would most likely just be bothering her. Everyone was busy.

I shouldn't burden anyone. I can suck it up. What's a little loneliness?

I should just enjoy my own company. Read a book, or something. Woah. Where did that come from? I did have some books that I always wanted to read...but no. Who was I kidding? I'm not smart, definitely not a reader. I need to stick to what I'm good at.

I looked around the room. There was a tv. I could watch a movie or something. I decided to watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine and eventually fell asleep.

And fourth chapter done! Really more of just a filler chapter. I know where I want this book to go, I just don't know how to get there! But I'll figure it out!
