The rumours had started up once more. The presence of the Avengers cast at the last tour date being the main reason. It hadn't escaped neither Steve or Arizona's notice, both of them bored with the gossip that was constantly popping up on their phones.

Source confirms romance blossoming between Steve Rogers and Arizona Allen
Everything we know about the potential romance between the Captain America actor and music superstar!
Steve had spoken to Sharon, putting her at ease that he and Arizona simply followed one another on Instagram and were more so acquaintances than friends. She'd understood, knowing exactly what the press were like, especially when it came to him and who he was dating. It had surprised him, but part of him knew that she still wanted to be more serious with their relationship, however they'd discussed keeping casual until their schedules weren't as hectic.
Yay.
Now there was the subject of his mother...
No sooner had she seen the headlines that friends had been sending her, she was calling him straight away, wanting to know every detail possible.
"There are no details because there is no romance, Mom". He told her wryly. Just like he had everyone else.
"So what's all this about you dating then?" Sarah had enquired, a little sceptical that her son was keeping things from her.
Steve really did feel like he was losing the will to live at this point. "I attended the last date of her tour with Stark and a few others, and because we've worked together on her music video? People have once again been making something out of nothing".
"Is she a friend then?"
"Yeah, but I don't like her in the way that I wanna date her". He made it clear.
Sarah sounded disappointed. "Oh, I was hoping you'd at least have someone to bring home this Christmas.". Since Steve's father had died when he was younger it had always been the two of them. They had been close, and they still were - but she missed her son when he was away, and lately he'd seemed very distant. Sarah could tell there was something, but had learnt not to press on it.
"Sorry Mom, just me - maybe I'll bring Bucky this time".
"At this point I may as well adopt him and get my grandkids that way". His mother now grumbled.
"Anyway I've gotta go, heading to an interview so I'll message you later". He said. "Love you".
Sarah stopped him. "Steve..."
"Yeah?"
"I miss you, that's all".
He felt bad, obviously he did try to get around seeing his mother, but with his career he was usually somewhere different on set. It frustrated her to no end when she'd call and he'd be in a different timezone without her knowledge.
"I'll be back home to see you soon, promise".
"You'd better, otherwise I'm kicking your ass kid". She threatened with parting words.
Steve put the phone back into his pocket and sipped at his coffee as he stared out the window while the drive to the studios continued. With Arizona over the other side of the world on tour, he'd only messaged her here and there when they could. Sometimes it would take a day or so for the other to reply, and usually it was insults being thrown back and forth between the small talk.
His mind still thought about her opening up to him about Quentin, and also Brock. Whether she'd been telling the truth about the latter was another thing, however his castmate had mentioned nothing to him. Something inside wanted him to clarify her accusation though, that Brock had cheated on her with the model he was currently dating - and Steve knew that, so there was a possibility she hadn't lied.
Cast interviews for the film were taking place and as Steve walked in he saw Brock talking to Bruce. Now heading over. Good to see you brother, how's it going?" Brock gave him a clap on the back, Steve then saying hello to Bruce.
"All good, what about you? How's the girlfriend?"
"Great, she's in Dubai currently but expecting her back in a few days". Brock replied.
Steve nodded. "Could be worse, you could still be dating that Arizona girl and not see her at all".
Brock rolled his eyes. "Dude, don't get me started on her - she was a fucking nightmare, you worked with her on her video didn't you? Hats off because I couldn't".
"Was she really that bad?" Steve chuckled, knowing he was getting somewhere now.
"Bad? The worst! Everyone thinks she dumped my ass when really it was the other way around".
Steve took a calm sip of coffee. "Certainly made her look the villain as always".
Brock snorted. "Well I wasn't gonna come out and say I was screwing someone else behind her back was I?"
She had been telling the truth.
Steve went along with it and chuckled. "Well, glad you got yourself outta there, otherwise it could've been worse".
"I feel for you being linked to her".
"Yeah, well the press are shit, we both know that" He shrugged it off, "They'll get bored soon".
Thankfully they were interrupted by Bucky coming over, Brock soon having to take a call from his girlfriend. As he walked away, Bucky and Steve watched. "You look like you're about to commit murder?" His best friend questioned. "You ok?"
"Yep..." Steve replied, "Just dandy..."
