Infinity island was large and filled with hundreds of shadows dressed in simple black tunics. Damian looked like he fit in perfectly. The clothes he had changed into, being similar to those of the shadows but of finer quality. The only other person with the same clothes was the woman who was now leading them over the beach. His mother. He could feel how tense Jon was as he walked next to him. He himself was mostly confused. The place did seem oddly familiar. In a way he could not quite explain because he still remembered none of it or of his mother. Yet, following this woman over the beach, heading towards the large mansion that towered ahed. It felt routine. The woman turned and looked at Damian. Her gleaming green eyes seeming to hold many secrets.
"It's been a while since you were back here son but are any memories returning, you did spend the first ten years of your life on this island." Her voice was soft but still it made him uneasy.
"No, no memories." Damian answered shortly and Talia nodded. They walked in through the first stone wall surrounding the big mansion and Damian looked at the men and women who seemed armed to the teeth. "What exactly is this place?" Damian asked and Talia stopped, waiting for him before walking by his side.
"It's your home Ian. The place you were born, where you were raised and where you were trained." There it was again, trained. He remembered himself saying in one of the videos that his father had not raised him, only trained him. Did that go for his mother as well?
"Trained me for what?" Damian asked and he saw in the corner of his eye how Jon bit his lip but Talia only smiled.
"To be our future." See simply said before walking ahead and in through the second wall surrounding the palace. Jon suddenly grabbed a hold of Damian's arm, tugging on it lightly. Gaining his attention.
"Ian, I... I really don't think this is a good idea. We need to leave." Damian raised a brow. Jon had been on board until now, why was he changing his mind all of a sudden.
"Listen Jon, I get that this is.... weird, but I need answers, and Talia is the one who will answer. You can leave if you like but I'm staying." Jon sighed and shook his head. And then he grabbed Damian's hand, interlocking their fingers.
"I'm not leaving your side." He said and Damian gave a slight smile.
"Ibn, yalla!" Talia called and Damian turned and looked at her before looking back at Jon who breathed out an anxious breath.
"It's a trap." Jon whispered and Damian rolled his eyes.
"Stop being dramatic, come on." He said as he pulled Jon forward with him to the large wooden doors where Talia stood. The doors opened a second later and they all walked inside.
The first hour of their visit they spent just walking around the large temple-like mansion, seeing if anything awakened any memories and even if it felt familiar there were no memories appearing. Damian tried to ask questions but his mother only gave him vague answers. She finally led them to a bedroom with a large bed.
"Please have a rest, I know your journey was long. I will see you for supper. I have some things to attend to." And with that Talia left, but not without leaving two guards outside their door. Damian sat down on the bed.
"Well that wasn't very helpful." He grumbled as Jon followed Talia with his x-ray vision, but she didn't seem to be doing more than attending to her duties.
"Maybe she is just easing you into it, she doesn't want to shock you."
*Tt* Damian clicked his tongue. "I am so tired of everyone trying to protect me." Jon sighed.
