Chapter Six

I woke up the next morning from a crazy dream.  In the dream Jackson and I were laying together wrapped in each other's arms in bed.  He was placing gentle kisses up the side of my neck, setting my body on fire.  His hand traced the curve of my body until it rested behind my neck.   Then he pulls me up bringing my face to his, our lips meeting.  When I pull away for air, Jackson is gone and a stranger with dark green eyes is in his place.  Before I can scream, I wake up in a pool of sweat.

After a long shower I decided to start packing.  When Sable had been killed I was allowed by Luna Blair to take something that had belonged to Sable. I had chosen her bookbag. She never left hime without it.

It was a faded brown leather bookbag with braided tassels that hung down the sides. Through the years Sable had sown beautiful turquoise and pearl colored beads into the braids and attached a charm of a wolf's head and a moon.

She called it her magic bag. I was never allowed to look through it when I was little and I never did, even after she had been killed. Not until last night.

I was surprised to find a journal. I didn't know she kept a journal and if I had more time I would have read it. Instead I put it back into the bag for later. I kept the vials of medicine she had in there. Even though I didn't know what most of it was, I figured it may be useful at some point. I also kept her Pack Identification Card. It had her picture on it, and it brought me a moment of comfort to see her face again.

When I was done I decided to have some breakfast and coffee. I wasn't sure when I would get the chance to have another cup of coffee. As I walked down the stairs I picked up unfamiliar scents. The guest had already started to arrive.

One scent in particular caught my attention. Before I knew what I was doing I started tracking the scent. There was something about it.

As I walked down the hallway the scent grew stronger. It lead me to one of the guest rooms. I felt like I was going crazy.  I knew what would happen to me if I was caught snooping through the guests rooms, but I just couldn't help myslef.

I held my breathe as I gently opened the door. I stepped into the room only to find it empty. Except for the two black leather duffel bags on the bed and the thick scent of the forest with a hint of vanilla.

"What in the hell are you doing Grey? I thought to myself.

I quietly shut the door and leaned against it.  The intoxicating scent flooded my senses, almost making me feel weak in the knees.

I finally pulled myself together and made my way down towards the kitchen.  Today was a big day, and I didn't need any distractions nor did I need to draw attention to myself.  I needed to focus.

Has Grey lost her mind? Who do you think the scent belongs too? Amd who just grabbed her? So many questions!

Also I'm kind of interested in that journal she found!
