Shorter Chapter! I feel like it's moving to slow.
The welcoming reception was in full swing. Izzie was carrying on like a pro, you wouldn't even know she was planning on leaving her soon to be husband at the alter. Jackson was his usually relaxed self. I was nervous.
Not only was I nervous about leaving but I had the weird feeling I was being watched. The hair on the back of my neck felt like it was standing up.
I was serving drinks to the guest. Suddenly I bumped into something or someone that felt like a brick wall. I dropped all the drinks, making a huge scene. I picked myself up off the ground completely humiliated.
I turned to apologize to the guest I had bumped into but my eyes met the greenest eyes I'd ever seen. They were the same green eyes that belonged to the silver wolf and the scent taking over my body was the same scent I tracked through the pack house.
My mouth went dry and I couldn't form words. A fire burned throughout my body and I knew he was my mate.
I could see it in his eyes, in his body language that he knew it too. We stood there frozen for what felt like an eternity.
He finally broke the silence.
"I'm Heath Marx, Alpha of the..." before he could say another word I turned around and ran.
Tears streamed down my face as I ran for the cabins. Why after all this time would I find my mate? An Alpha. I had given up hope of a mate years ago. I made my peace with it, and now that I'm this close to freedom, I find him.
As I approached the cabin I noticed Jackson already waiting for me. He must've seen what happened and saw me leave. How much did he know?
As if he could read my mind he crossed the space between us and engulfed me in a hug.
"It's going to be okay, Grey. This doesn't change anything. " he soothed.
"It changes everything, he is my mate." I cried.
"Do you want to stay and go with him?" he asked.
"No. I want to go with you" I replied. "
Jackson kissed the top of my head and said, "Then let's go."
