"What did he just say?" Joe whispered?

The room felt like it was closing in.  My stomach started to feel queasy.  I had suspected that Alpha Paul was crazy, but I didn't realize that I was right in my suspicion until now.

"You're my brother?"

"Half brother, to be exact."

"Right.  How so?" I asked as I started to ease my way towards the door.

"You're mother and my father... they, " he started to say.

"Your mother was the fated mate of his father,  my chosen mate." Lexi stated with a look of sadness.

I had to sit down.  This was getting really weird... really fast.

"So you are Alpha Paul's mother?" I asked .

"Yes."

"And my parents are who?" I asked, not sure if I wanted to even know.

"James, your father, was an enforcer from the Stone Mountain pack.  We had known each other all of our lives, and one night, we got carried away, and that's how Paul was conceived. We decided to bind ourselves to one another since  we had a pup on the way. Several years later, James met Naomi.  It was a meeting of fate. Your mother had come to visit with her family, and James was at the gate when they arrived. James came home and told me that he had met his mate.  He was torn between the pull of the mate bond and his love and loyalty for me and our child.  I know how strong the mate bind is between fated mates, and that wasn't something I could or wanted to contend with, so we agreed to start a different kind of family."

"What do you mean a different kind of family?" I asked.

I was shocked at how she talked of this with fondness and not malice.  I couldn't imagine how heartbreaking it must've been for her.

"I loved James.  Not the way Naomi did, but in my own way.  And James loved Paul.  We decided to raise Paul together, the three of us.  Naomi and I became great friends, and when she became pregnant with you, we were all overjoyed.  It wasn't until after you were born that things started to change."

"How so?"

"Your mother was a lovely woman, Grey.  I adored her, but after you were born, she became increasingly paranoid.  She said that she had started having visions and that someone was after her and you.  James tried releasing to soothe her worries, but she became more and more withdrawn.  One night, she left, taking you with her.  The next morning, when  James realized that she was gone, he left to track her down, and that was the last time I ever saw either of them, and you."

This was a lot to take in.  I had always wanted to know who my parents  were, but I never thought I would actually find out.

I had been an Omega and alone all my life, and now suddenly I have a brother and a half mother?

I had so many questions.

"Does anyone know what happened to my parents? Or how I ended up at the Blue Moon Pack?"

"Our father and Naomi were never found. We sent out trackers and searched for weeks, and it's like they dropped off the face of the Earth."  Alpha Paul said.

"And we didn't learn of your where abouts for several years.  Once I found you, I feared that if I brought you back here, whatever or whomever your mother was so afraid of would find you."  Lexi added.

I sat at the dinner table with my newfound family for hours, talking.  It felt weird to have family, and I still wasn't sure that I could trust them.

Finally, I make my room. I thought about the night I wished on the Blood Moon.  I had thought that leaving the Blue Moon Pack with Jackson was my wish come true, and maybe in a way, it was because it brought me here.

Things were so much simpler a few days ago.

That night, I felt into a deep sleep.  And like always, I dreamed of a man.  The same man that I had met only once and ran away from.  My mate.

Was he dreaming of me, too?
