"Come on just come to Boston with me, Ma and the family would love to see you." My best friend of over 15 years Chris Evans said as I packed up a suitcase in my LA home.
"Chris, I know they would and I would love to see them but I just need to get away from it all. I'm going to go on vacation and just get away." I said and Chris groaned.
"Then come to Boston with me Roxi. I mean it's away, no paps, everything will be fine. We have that premiere to go to in 3 weeks, we can go together and everything will be fine." Chris said and I sighed.
"You aren't going to stop until I agree are you?" I asked and he shook his head with a smile. The smile that got Chris Evans everything his wanted. The smile that he could give fans and they could forgive him for any indiscretion he made.
Chris and I had been friends since we starred in a movie together in a movie in 2004. I was nervous to work with him when we first got to set, I was new to acting, this was my first gig and he wasn't super well known but was becoming a household name. He was so sweet on set and took me under his wing to make sure I was comfortable and safe. Ever since then when everyone saw the chemistry we had they tried to pair us together in movies. Everyone always thought there was something more between us all the time but Chis was the best friend and always would be the best friend.
"Okay fine, I'll come to Boston but I stay at Lisa's." I said and Chris looked hurt and I laughed.
"Really?" Chris asked and I shook my head.
"No Chris, of course I will stay with you. You have something at your house I want..." I said and he groaned.
"You use me for my dog. Most guys would be pissed off by that." Chris said.
"You just hate that when he sees me he loves me more." I said and Chris nodded. I finished packing my suitcase and he zipped it up.
"How are we going to do this getting to the airport. I mean Megan and Marsha told us not to be seen together much." I said and Chris groaned.
"Separate cars. I can even have the car drop me off at like a different gate so it looks like I'm going somewhere else." Chris said.
"Won't work when it's reported we arrive in Boston together." I said and Chris groaned.
"Maybe if you would just buy a place in Boston it wouldn't look weird when you come to town." Chris said as he took my suitcase to the front door.
"Why would I do that, I have a room at your place." I said and Chris shook his head with a laugh. He kissed me on my cheek as we stood at the door.
"So I will see you at the airport later?" Chris asked and I nodded.
"Yeah I need to call Marsha and have her get me on your flight." I said and he smiled, pulled out his phone, did something things then my phone pinged.
"Done, there is your ticket." He said.
"Chris!" I said and he shook his head.
"I used my miles. I never do for anything else." Chris said and I smiled.
"Fine, I will see you later." I said and he opened the door. We hugged and he left. I sighed going to my couch to sit down. I decided to let Marsha know since I knew it would hit the news soon.
ROXI: Hey, I'm going to be going to Boston with Chris for a few weeks before the premiere. I need to get out of LA.
MARSHA:What happened with going to Hawaii? Just getting away from it all.
ROXI: That was the plan but Chris begged me to go to Boston and used his miles to buy me a ticket.
MARSHA:Damnit Roxi, Megan and I have said don't travel together. We constantly have to keep you two separate in the media. If you could maybe hold on to a relationship...
ROXI: Seriously Marsha?!
MARSHA:Sorry...I know that was low. You and Henry were perfect together.
ROXI: Until we weren't.
MARSHA:I know, I'm sorry.
ROXI: Just know I'm going to Boston. Thought you would care to know.
I tossed my phone beside me on the couch. Bringing up my last relationship was a low blow. Henry Cavill and I were a perfect couple, had been together for almost a year. Things were going great, we were on the fast track to a possible proposal coming. Then in one week it all went to shit. He was seen out with his ex-girlfriend getting cozy, my boyfriend I had before Henry had made some comments about how we had been together while I was with Henry and that I was starting to have a drinking problem. Henry and I talked but we couldn't get past the fact that he talked to his ex and the rumors my ex started. I knew it was just for my ex to get his name out there again but I couldn't make Henry see that. We ended pretty fast a few weeks ago, LA had gotten bad with the press and I just wanted out. I just sat on the couch in the silence of my LA home, it would be good to get out and go to Boston for a few weeks, just be with some people I knew who cared and didn't believe all the press. I went to my room and made sure I had everything and then decided to call for a car. Once I did I texted Chris.
ROXI: What kind of alcohol do you have at your place in Boston?
CHRIS:Odd question but I know there is some whiskey.
ROXI: Perfect...I need a drink
CHRIS:Planning to drink and drinking in private isn't that the sign of a problem 🤣
ROXI: Shove it up your ass Evans.
I knew he was joking and I would allow him and only him to do so.
ROXI: Ready to be in Boston...
I put my phone back down as my eyes filled with tears. I wasn't sure why I was crying, LA and the business playing with my mental state too much. Maybe I needed to take a break for a while.
