Wait time: 22 minutes part four

2nd person pov
Norma suddenly disappeared.
"Norma? Norma!" You and Barney called out.
Suddenly you were knocked back into your body.... By Norma dropping your head on the hard wooden floor.
"Ow! Norma, what the hell?!" You yelled. "Courtney why was I cuddling y/n?" She demanded. Courtney's eyes widened and she blushed. "Uhhh, my goals are beyond your simple human understanding!" She said rather loudly.
"Yknow what? I don't even care. You have to send us back in there! I found her! I found Jennifer!" Norma exclaimed.
"What is that place?" You asked.
"That's just the in between." "The what?" Norma asked and Courtney sighed, rolling her eyes. "When you're possessed, your soul goes there for the time being. You're not dead, you're not alive, you're just sorta ehh, backstage. It's harmless... although, if you're there to long Yknow you can't come back." She smiled casually.
"WHAT?!" You and Norma yelled.
"Wait... but then who's in ba- oh. Never mind." You noticed pugsley holding the book

While you were all standing in line, pugsley pulled himself back into his own body.
"This isn't moral! I won't steal his special boy time from him! Courtney here!" He threw it at her. "These human emotions are getting way too deep for me, I can't handle them!" She threw the book at Norma. "You think I can?" She threw it at you. "I don't wanna be the one held responsible for messing shit up!" You thres it at pugsley. And you went in a circle until it finally landed on Norma.

Norma's pov
"I shouldn't have... oh." I realized I was now in Barney's body. Great. I cringed, hoping one of them would get me outta here.
"It's not a scary ride. I can hold your hand your hand the entire time if you want. We're nearly there." He offered grabbing my hand. Ewww what the heck?!
"Ew! No thank you!" I jerked my hand away. "Aw, cmon. Let's get smoochy!" He said as he flailed his tongue disgustingly everywhere. Yeah, this must be Courtney. (Ok, but am I the only one who found this scene hot, or am I just weird 💀)
"Ew! Why don't you do that with y/n?!" I yelled and she froze, blushing. I took this chance to knock her down. Logs got back up, groaning .
"What just happened?" He muttered. Oh, crud. "Uh, you fell possibly a result of your large upper body-" suddenly I was knocked back into my body.

2nd person pov
You were all standing there, out of breath.
"We need to get Barney back! I came back when you left my body. Why didn't he?" Norma asked. "I don't know. Maybe he doesn't want to." Courtney shrugged.
"Barney's run away from his problems before. Y/n, Norma. You guys need to go back and get him." Pugsley said as he took the book, possessing Norma.
"Oh my gosh, I'm adorable!" He smiled, patting his head.
"Courtney, possess me!" You said, handing the book to you. "Hm, don't mind if I do." She smirked, causing you to blush. "Fuck you. Just hurry up!" You looked away and she possessed you.
She stared down at her hands before shouting: "YEAH! IM HOT!"

~in the upside down~
(I don't care if it's called the in between, imma call it the upside down.)
"Took you long enough." Norma scoffed and you rolled your eyes.

You both ran around looking for Barney, until you spotted him by a counter.
"Barney, you have to come back with us! I know talking to people you like is stressful. Like, believe me, I still struggle talking to you and y/n sometimes." Norma said. "Oh, it's not that." he sighed."then what?" "I'm using the logs date thing to distract me. To run away again and now, I've run away to here. I need to stop. I can't keep running away." He sighed again.
"Running away from what? Is there a demon after you?" Norma asked and Barney chuckled. "Worse. My family."
"Barney, as soon as we get out of this mess, let's go talk to mom and dad. But right now, we need to focus on getting out of here. Courtney says that if you stay here for too long, you may never be able to come back." You explained.
"Never?! But what about her? We can't just leave her here." You all looked over at Jennifer Swan.
"Jennifer!" "Hello, pudding. Did you want an-" "No! We don't want an autograph. There are people in the real world who love us, and we can't hide from them forever." Barney said.
"Jennifer, we need you to come back with us. Who were you before you came to the park? Think about her. Please, Jennifer." Norma pleaded. The girl stayed silent and then nodded.
And just like that, you were all back in your bodies.
Norma grabbed the spell book and yeeted it into the pool of blood.

"Uh, I have to return that Yknow. It's 10,000 years overdue!" Courtney exclaimed. "Guys! Let's all relax and hope that BARNEY is having a good time on BARNEYS date and maybe someone can scratch MY head because I have been a VERY good boy today." Pugsley glared and of course you all started patting his head.

Norma noticed Barney was leaving and saw logs had no one to sit with.
"Heck yeah! Free seat!" She said, running over. "I'm gonna go with Norma." Pugsley said, running after her, leaving you and Courtney alone.
"So... wanna go on this thing?" Courtney asked a little shyly. "Yeah, sure." You said casually, but you were secretly really excited. She hopped in and just as you were about to sit next to her, someone grabbed your collar and yanked you backwards.

"What the fuck?!" You yelled and turned to see your brother. "What the hell man?! Can't you see I was about to go on a romantic ride with Courtney?!" You glared at him. "It was your idea to talk to mom and dad!" He pointed out. "Ok, but not when I'm with Courtney!" You argued.
"Whatever, just come on." He yanked you threw the line.
You both walked through the park looking for your parents, when you spotted them.
"Mom! Dad!" You yelled and they turned to look at the two of you. "Uh, how have you been?"

You walked into Courtney's room, exhausted by the day you experienced.
"Hey." You yawned and she quickly ran over.
"Hey! Alright, let's do this!" She grinned enthusiastically.
You started to try and cut them like you do every night, but tonight, a small scratch appeared on her left cuff.
"............................................. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!" you both looked at each other and squealed like little girls. You jumped up and down, laughing and hugging one another.
"I told you!" You smiled and she hugged you. You happily hugged her back. You both sat there for awhile and you kissed her cheek.
She stared at you wide eyed and you immediately regretted it.
"Shit. I'm sorry, I'll go." You jumped up and raced to the ladder.
"No, no! Stay. It's uh... it's ok." you stopped. You turned and hesitantly walked back. You sat a little spaced out from her.

Courtney's pov
What. The. Heck. Just happened. Did this mortal just... kiss me? Why is my face hot? Oh god, I feel like I'm gonna be sick. My stomach's twisting and turning. Is this what the humans call moths in your tummy? Or was it butterflies? No, it's definitely moths.
Uh oh. She's looking at me. Crap. What do I do? What do I do?
I smiled shyly. She smiled back. Why is my face so warm right now? Ugh! Why are emotions so complicated?!
I scooted closer to her and leaned on her shoulder. She slowly wrapped her arm around me and leaned her head onto mine. It felt... nice.
We stayed like this until I heard soft snoring. She was asleep. I was right. She IS really cute when she's asleep. I chuckled and let my eyes shut to drift off to sleep as well.
