You and Barney had just gotten back from Christmas in July shopping. Even though he's Jewish, he still loves the concept of Christmas. (Im really sorry if that offended anyone) "🎵 oh, the weather outside is!🎵" he pointed to you, waiting for you to sing the next verse. "Too hot for you to be wearing that sweater!" Pugsley ran up excitedly to greet the two of you. "Barney! Y/n! I didn't know we celebrated Christmas!" "Technically, it's Christmas in July. Which is not a real holiday." Norma said. "Hmmm, then I guess these presents aren't real either~" He shook the bag of stuff you guys bought and Norma's eyes widened. *Le gasp* "Gimme!" "For pugsley, I got a little wizard hat, cuz you're a little wizard dog now." Barney sat his gift on pugsley's head and he smiled as you rummaged through the bag, pulling out your gift. "And I got you a little wizard wand, cuz, uh... yeah." You handed it to him.

"These are the first presents you've given me I wasn't intending to eat." He smiled thankfully and Barney chuckled. "I don't mind what you do with it." "Yeah, and I got that thing specifically for you to chew, so go crazy." You said as Barney dug for Norma's gift. "This was pretty expensive, so we had combine our dues." Barney explained as you took it from him. "It's a doll!" You announced and her smile faltered. "I appreciate the gesture, but do I look like someone who plays with- *le gasp* the y2k millennial bug Pauline?! Woo hoo! Thank you guysss!" She cheered and waved it in the air. "Well, well, well. Look who's a regular Christmas in July cramps. I'm guessing you didn't get me anything?" Courtney glared from the couch. "Oh I actually did get you something... it's trash!" Barney announced. "Oh, yeah. Right. Since I'm a demon I must love trash!" She said sarcastically. "But... you do?" Barney questioned, confused. She teleported over, snatching it from him. "That's not the point ok?" She said through a mouth full as she teleported back over to the couch. "Leave me alone." She sighed. "Um, I got you something. And it's not trash!" You said nervously. You could feel the blood rushing to your face as you rummaged through the bag to find your gift to her. You grasped the card you had gotten for her. You wanted subtle, romantic but not too obvious. "Here!" You handed it to her, quickly looking away. "Hope your Christmas in July is as lovely as you are!" "Have a good Christmas in July, Courts! - Love, y/n You regret writing "love" but it's done now. Courtney blushed, trying to hold back a smile, but it quickly faltered. "Ugh! Whatever! Go away!" She shoved it aside. "What's her problem?" Norma glared. "I don't know. Yknow, I TRY to do something nice..." they walked off in the other room while you and pugsley stayed behind.
Pugsley's pov Courtney seemed a bit grumpy today, and I think y/n noticed it too. She bent down next to me. "Hey, could you maybe try and see what's bothering Courtney? I know you guys are close." She said and I smiled nodding as she left to join the others. I walked over cautiously. "Heyyy, buddy. Is uh, is everything okay?... I'm sensing a lot of big sweatpants energy coming of you today." She shushed me. "Shhhh! It's the real housewives of hades." She turned the volume up. "Ok, Eurydice said that Orpheus wasn't looking at her, but he was totally not looking at me instead! Ok?!" (Ok, but did anyone else find that scene funny af? 😂) ".... Sorry about the whole "not being able to return to the demon world" thing." I apologized and she sighed, switching off the tv. "I'm stuck in a theme park with a bunch of whiny humans, and did I mention I might have romantic feelings for one?! I don't even know! Oh, and by the way, I have to suffer through this for the rest of eternity! So just let me wallow, would ya?" She complained, switching back on the tv. Suddenly, a little pink flame appeared above her head. "Not now." She grumbled. "What's that?" I asked. "It's a notification." She sighed. At this point, I was very curious so I reached up to touch it. "Hey!" She tried to push me away. But I got to it! 😈 The head of a blue demon appeared. "Congratulations! You've been selected for Hox's castle! The biggest show in the multi-plane! So come on down to be in with a chance to win the greatest prize of all-" He was cut off by Courtney rubbing away his face. "Rude." He glared and disappeared. "Oh, yeah! Great! Way to rub it in universe! I applied 500 years ago and now I can't even go! Leave me alone pugsley." She sighed, slumping back down in her seat. Hmmm, that gives me an idea!
2nd person pov "So you want us to travel to the demon world and go on a game show for some prize?" Barney questioned. "I didn't know there were game shows down there." "Apparently that's where they were invited." Pugsley shrugged. "Wow. The demons are a lot more civilized than I thought." You said. "But wouldn't we be tortured to death, or poked with those little stabby trident things, or, I don't know... bathed, in... smelly, bath water? I uh, I don't know a lot about demon culture." Barney chuckled nervously. "It might be fun to learn. Those demon books can only teach us so much." Norma smiled. Barney inhaled sharply. "I don't know.." "Cmon Barney! If we win Courtney this prize, we'll beat her blues. I'm sure of it!" Pugsley smiled confidently. "If it means cheering up Courtney, I'm in!" You said proudly. "Same here!" Norma smiled. As if on cue, the elevator doors opened. You all stood there, awaiting Barney's answer. He sighed. "Fine. I guess cheering up Courtney is the Christmas in July thing to do after all." "Yay!" You and Barney cheered.
