"Next up, the lightning round!" Hox announced. "Yes! Trivia!" Norma cheered. "Not quite." He chuckled, winking at the camera.
"To progress, all you have to do is climb these stairs. I'll see you at the top! Oh, and take your time~" He laughed sadistically before disappearing. You shuddered. "Man, that guy is creepy." You muttered. (It rhymes 🙄💅)
You and norma both slowly started approaching the steps.
"Remember, there's always a-" "always a catch. Yep, got it." She rolled her eyes as you both slowly raised your feet and put them on the first step. You waited to be blown up or something, but nothing happened.
"Oh. It's ok." You and Norma assured them as you all began walking up the stairs. (Fun fact: you can't stand backwards on stairs.)
You started walking up the steps with ease, but after awhile, you became uncomfortable. Norma was feeling the same.
"This shouldn't be so simple..." she said. "Isn't it a good thing that it's simple..?" Barney chuckled nervously.
"Easy for you to say." You all looked back to see pugsley struggling to get up the second step. "I never really got the hang of this." He muttered and you all chuckled, continuing up the stairs.
"Ok, so... what's lightning about this?" As if on cue, a bolt of lightning struck beside you.
You all began freaking out as you zoomed up the stairs.
"WHY ARE WE STILL NOT AT THE TOP?!" "FUCK THIS SHOW!!!!" You yelled and for once, Barney didn't correct your language.
"Wait. Everyone, stop!" Norma commanded, and you all slowed down, and so did the lightning. "Ohhh, yeah that makes sense." You said casually.
Meanwhile, pugsley was still running for his life.
"Pugsley! Sit!" Barney commanded as pugsley very nervously stayed still. "He said take your time, and look!" Norma exclaimed as the lightning slowly went down.
"Everyone, go slowly." She said and you all slowly moved up the stairs.
Eventually, you all reached the top and celebrated.
"Ok, Norma. I see you. Big brain energy." You smirked and she blushed. (In a platonic
way y'all chill💀)
Hox appeared. "Congratulations, contestants! Now you've made it to... SUDDEN DEATH." He said all sinister like.
"What's that?" Barney asked. "This." He smiled pushing him down the stairs.
He was struck several times on his way down before he died. ☹️
You all made your way down there as fast as possible.
"Barney?" Pugsley said sadly. "No, no, no, no, no." You whispered hyperventilating as Norma and pugsley comforted you.
"Wait, what about our lifeline?" Norma asked. "I don't think that's what lifeline means." "I don't think that's what sudden death means. Hey! We wanna use our lifeline!" Norma yelled out as Hox appeared.
"Are you sure? You only get one." He smirked which pissed you off. You jumped up. "But that's not fair! You just pushed him down the stairs you bitch!" You screamed. "My show, my rules, sweetheart." He smirked at you. That motherfucker just pushed you to your limit.
"Listen here, pal! My brother just died from your inconvenient existence! And personally, I will not stand for it! I demand that you bring us that lifeline! And if it doesn't work, I'm gonna sue you so hard your grandkids will be paying for it! And then, I'm gonna gut you, and strangle you with your own intestines!" You yelled. So maybe you went a little too far.... And a little too karen- But it worked!
He backed away from you looking like: "yeah, imma need a restraining order on this lady." But he decided to not say anything. He chuckled nervously. "Ok, ok! Here!" He disappeared.
"That was actually really cool, y/n." Norma smiled and you sighed, rubbing your forehead. After a moment, the lifeline appeared and shone a bright blinding pink.
When you could see again, Barney was standing there, completely fine.
"Barney, you're back!" Norma said excitedly. Barney, Barney, Barney, Barney!" Pugsley frantically jumped up and down. "Don't ever do that again!" You said and grabbed his face, examining it to make sure he wasn't actually a zombie or something.
"Huh? What are you guys talking about?" He giggled before looking over to see that his body was still there. But it's ok though! Because it turned to dust and faded away :)
"Alright, cool. So when we get back, uh, remind me to call my therapist." he smiled, traumatized.
You all made it back to the top of the stairs AGAIN.
"Congratulations, contestants! You've made it to the third and final round... somehow. This next challenge will test your might, your resolve, your charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and-" "ahem! Get on with it." You all glared at him.
"Fine. Can't believe you made it this far anyway." He muttered before switching back to his game show host voice. "Prepare yourselves for... the chamber of cuddles!" He announced as he opened the dungeon doors.
"Ah, yes. How menacing." You muttered sarcastically.
"Good luck." He said before slamming the doors closed on you.
