Joining back to work

We arrived at school and he quickly stepped out of the car and rushed towards the passenger side to open the door for me. I smiled at him shyly while stepping out of the car and letting him close the door. He was about to say something but got interrupted, “Pete!!” That familiar voice of my bestie was heard very close and I turned around to greet him. “Tin!!” I called in excited tone. “How have you been??” He inquired. “I am good. What about you?? Oh, by the way, meet my husband, Intouch.” I introduced. “Hello Intouch…” Tin greeted while stepping forward and extending his hand in friendly handshake. Ae made a quick handshake and retrieved his hand while eyeing Tin suspiciously. I could clearly see the possessive edge to his behaviour as he stepped forward and wrapped his arm around my waist like he had done in the elevator.

“Ae… That’s my bestie, Tin… We have been together since childhood.” That explanation seemed to put him at ease and he loosened his grip around me. “How will you get back home?” Ae inquired. “Don’t worry Mr. Intouch, I will drop him off.” Tin offered. “Thank you very much…” Ae said before he turned around to face me. “Lock the door from inside after you enter the apartment, have your meal on time and take some rest. Also, don’t forget to drop me message after reaching home.” Ae instructed.

“Okay khrab…” I replied. I could see that he was reluctant to leave and had to pull away with heavy heart. “Ill see you at home.” He said as he moved to close the door of the passenger side before moving towards the driver seat. “See you soon khrab…” I said which brought a wide smile on his face. He waved at me as he got into the car and slowly pulled out of the parking lot.

As the car disappeared, Tin’s attention turned towards me. “He is so whipped for you!!” he commented. “Don’t tease me khrab.” I complained while pouting at him. “I am not teasing my dear. Anyone looking at that man could clearly say that he is whipped. And I am happy that you finally married someone who looks at you like that. There’s a pure adoration for you in his eyes and also, he is possessive of you. I was a little worried about the incident at wedding but looks like whatever happened was for good. You finally married someone who will love you.” Tin spoke. I agree to him saying that I was lucky to have found someone who loves me.

We headed towards the staffroom with all other colleagues and students greeting me. When I entered the staffroom, all began to crowd around to congratulate me. It was just amazing how people were so happy for me. And as expected, they all were demanding treat and there was no way I could deny them but I will have to talk to Ae about this to inform him that I would be treating my friends for lunch. I don't want him to be worried if I return back home late.

I didn’t even come to know when the working hours got over and it was time to leave. “Pete, let’s go home. I’ll drop you on my way.” Tin said as he collected his stuff and began to put them in bag. I nodded while quickly closing the book in hand and placing all the things into the locker before proceeding to grab my bag in order to leave. We walked out of the staffroom talking to each other and making our way towards the parking lot.

Tin was a bit excited to know about my married life and he was bombarding me with questions. I managed to avoid some but few of them were shot directly without a chance to escape. “Sooooo….. looking at you both , it’s clear that you did it.” Tin said. Why does my bestie has to be this blunt? “Tin, can we not talk about it?” I requested. “Oooh!!! You being shy now?? Don’t deny the fact that you didn’t do it.” He teased. “TINNN?!!” I scolded and I could clearly hear him laugh. “Better not tease you much. I don’t want your husband to kill me. If stare would have killed, I would have been dead in morning.” Tin joked. But I knew that he was right. Ae was giving him death glare till I informed him that Tin was my bestie.

We arrived at the apartment complex and Tin stopped his car right at the entrance. “Thank you Tin for today. I’ll ask mae to send my car here as soon as possible.” I said. “Its alright Pete… I would love to give you lift everyday. That way, I will come to know about your married life and also, Ae wouldn’t have to worry about you.” He said. “Hmmm… I’ll see you at school tomorrow…” I said as I closed the door of the car and walked into the complex. I approached the elevator and had to wait for a while for the lift to stop. When I was about to get in, I stumbled into someone.
