Her tears stopped not soon after the whole ordeal. Gigi's sadness quickly turned into anger, acrylic nails digging into her palms. Ryo trailed behind her, a wary look on his usually blank face. She didn't know why he was there or what she was to do now. All her childhood and now most her teen years she spent time taking out her anger through violence. But now where was that? Gigi knows she should have done more than just throw a simple glass of wine at Kōhei Amagai— she should have knocked out his teeth, made him bleed, scream, cry and beg for mercy and forgiveness but she couldn't get herself too.
It was after Ryo revealed to her of Kōhei Amagai's knowledge of her past she realized the amount of utter rage she'd been holding back their entire relationship. It was worse than the blood collecting in her mouth after a run-in with Doubt 2 years ago. It was worse than realising the wretchedness and violence that blooms within girlhood.
At that exact moment, Gigi Miyama began to understand her mother.
Women are born with pain etched into them. You learn young to silence any rage and anger you have even if you don't mean to.
Was that why Gigi hadn't done anything to Kōhei? Was that why he wasn't grovelling under her heels, bleeding out and crying?
She stopped walking so fast and unclenched her fists. Everything she'd done for that piece of shit and this is what she got in return. Ryo hesitatingly walked next to her instead of behind her. "you look just like your mother" Ryo said all of a sudden
She guessed she did carry her tenderness.
"you both have the same eyes" It was because they were both exhausted
"and hands" They shared the same wilting fingers"
"But that rage... your mother doesn't wear that anger"
He was right. This rage was the one thing Gigi got from her father— something her mother often told her.
The wary look on Ryo didn't suit him. "Don't look like that" Gigi told him and stopping in the middle of the street to pull her heels off "go back to your friend, he's probably pissed off"
Ryo bit the inside of his cheek and shook his head. "I'm dropping you home"
Gigi sighed and kept on pace to her house. The rest of the walk to her house was in silence. As they reached the front door Gigi tilted up head up to look at Ryo. "Is there anything else you should be telling me or am I pushing it"
Ryo felt slightly uncomfortable now. Gigi crying was fine but now she had this look of anger in her eyes. A dangerous uncontrollable flame that burned her and everything around her. "um no I just..." he paused, feeling guilty even though he didn't know "I didn't know about Aya and Kōhei... I just—"
The front door opened. "Oh, Gina, Ryo— Gina are you crying?" her stepfather was at the door with her mother, both looking like they were going somewhere
