Chapter Cover: Erza and Eve standing side by side as they faced Master Jose as his Shade magic danced around him (Child of Heaven memories)
Everyone was staring at the new arrival. Irene had a frown upon her face as she was staring at him. She hadn't expected him to be able to return so quickly with her spell having launched him on the other side of the world. If there was one battle that she had wanted to avoid was that confrontation against Acnologia. Their first confrontation was still in the forefront of her mind and she knew just how powerful the man turned Dragon had become and how he had slaughtered Dragons at the end of the Dragon wars. That man was too much of a wild car in her master's plan so that she could avoid his presence when Zeref finally obtained Fairy Heart but if he was here…
If only Venum hadn't betrayed them…
Irene could feel anger within her heart at the betrayal but more ever, she felt hurt. She hadn't felt something like that since the time back when she had lost Belserion at the end of the Dragon wars. She hadn't felt something like that since she was betrayed by her fiancée…more ever she hadn't felt something that painful…
I trusted her…she had my trust and my support and yet she still betrayed Alvarez…
Irene turned her gaze toward Acnologia who was still standing across them with that grin upon his lips as his eyes pierced her own. If everything had gone as well as they had planned, they would have already won the war but ever since the battle had started earlier today, they had simply lost members one after another until all that remained was her and August. She had felt it when Larcade was defeated and she knew that she was only her and August that remained…
Her gaze fixed back toward Nyssa as well as Erza. It had been a long time since she had seen Erza…and she felt a little proud of her daughter. The last time she had seen her, the girl was only a babe in her arms. Irene had looked at the baby in her arms, seeing the gentle smile that was upon her lips and she knew in her heart that she wouldn't be right to raise her. She had felt so lost in darkness in the centuries she had spent ever since she had escaped her unjust imprisonment, an action which had transformed her into a Dragon, thanks to her Dragon Slayer magic. She had spent centuries as such until Zeref found her…
She had given birth to Erza a while later then, but even so looking at the child, she couldn't find it within herself to raise her. Irene had felt that she didn't deserve her; she didn't deserve to be loved by her when she herself had fallen so low…but with Acnologia there she knew that Nyssa and Erza were nothing but a nuisance by simply being there. They would be no match for him…and Acnologia was on no one side but his own…
"Belserion," the man spoke out, "I knew that I recognized that name from somewhere…Belserion the Brave. That was the Dragon that wanted to live peacefully with humans back in the days. I remember when I gutted him like the spineless Dragon he was."
Irene glared toward him, feeling rage growing in her chest at the man's tone.
"But that was all your fault wasn't it Irene Belserion?" Acnologia continued, "After all you created me."
Irene tightened her hands into fist. From the other side she could hear both Nyssa and Erza gasping lightly at the revelation that she had a hand into creating Acnologia. It was true in a way, after all, she was the one who had wanted to see Belserion's dream to come truth, so that human and Dragon can live together.
"You created Acnologia?" Nyssa said shocked.
Acnologia laughed.
"So, you haven't told them have you?" he said, "You haven't told them who the one who created Dragon Slayer magic was? Well allow me to introduce to you, the Queen of Dragons, Irene Belserion the creator of the Dragon Slayer magic in the world."
