Bugs 🐛

"Leo why do you call me Bug?"

Leo lifted his head from his phone as he sat on the couch, his hair gently flopping with it. He hummed in question.

"Like where did it come from, my name doesn't even sound similar?" I pondered as I sat at the bar in our kitchen.

"Well then if that's the case then why do you call me Bubba?" I looked over to him "I mean my name is Leonardo, no B even in it?"

I shifted back, acting dramatically offended.

"I call you Bubba because I think it's cute! And atleast Bubba sounds cute Bugs sounds like you're calling me a caterpillar or something weird like that."

He furrowed his eyebrows and smiled at my pouty tone. "Well I think Bugs is cute, people call their brother and uncles Bubba, not saying I don't like it but you're the one that started shitting on my nickname." He teased.

"I never shitted on it dumbass, I just asked you why you called me it." I huffed, popping up from my chair and beginning to walk over to him. "If you don't wanna say you don't have to to say but all I said is that I wanna know why you-"

"It's because you bug me." He cut me off. I stopped in front of him and my face contorted in confusion.

"HUH?!"

"You bug me Bug," he smiled and placed his hands on my waist "in the best way possible."

I glared on at him, still confused yet intrigued.

"To me it's like Bug-a-boo or something like that. You bug me in the way a butterfly or ladybug would." His hands grazed up and down my back, running goosebumps up under his palms.

"You're digging a hole here Leo." I playfully warned, narrowing my eyes at him.

"How?" He laughed "I'm telling you the truth. You're like a ladybug but that just doesn't roll off the tongue as easy ya know."

I huffed a sigh of defeat as I looked into his pretty eyes, he smiled a cheeky smile back up at me knowing of his victory in the conversation.

"Ugh fine whatever bub you win," I admitted and tried to wiggle out of his grasp, but he wouldn't let go "lemme go." I whined.

"No, not until you apologize for doubting me."

I groaned once again "Fine bub I'm sorry for questioning your questionable choice of nicknames." My words turned to a whisper as I lean down closer to his face.

A sweet smile grew on his face, a warm and loving smile. A smile that told me one thing, without him having to say it.

"Consider yourself forgiven bug."
