Upon noticing Noah as I walked home from school, I couldn't help but wonder why such a wealthy person would choose to walk rather than take a car. Noah's mysterious demeanor intrigued me, leaving me wishing I could understand what was going on in his head. Lost in thought about Noah, my phone suddenly rang, delivering shocking news that I never expected.

The caller informed me of a devastating accident involving Ivy and my father. Ivy sustained minor injuries, but my father tragically passed away instantly. It was the second biggest shock of my life, as I had lost my mother to a prolonged illness when I was only nine years old. Now, both of my parents were gone.

Overwhelmed by grief, I collapsed to the ground. Without my parents' support, I couldn't fathom how I would manage everything. Though Ivy was still alive and loved me dearly, she could never replace my mother, always addressing me as a friend rather than a daughter.

Noah approached me and helped me to my feet.

"Hey, you okay?" he asked.

"My father... he.." I choked on my words.

He retrieved a bottle of water from my bag and offered it to me.

"Calm down Sadie. Please. Tell me What happened," he urged.

I was still not able to say anything. I was broken from the inside and started crying in Noah's arms

"Sadie, What happened? Please tell me. I can't see you crying like this. It breaks my heart," Noah said softly.

I couldn't stop crying but I calmed myself down a little and told him everything that happened.

"I am so sorry for your loss Sadie. Do you want to visit Ivy at the hospital? I will take you there," Noah offered.

"Yes Please, I want to see her. Thank you Noah," I said gratefully, and we began walking together.

This 10-minute walk was the most difficult for me, but with Noah by my side holding my hand I remained calm.

At the hospital, Noah took charge, arranging for Ivy's room number and speaking to the doctor on my behalf. Ivy's injuries were minor, and she was expected to make a full recovery within a week.

I went inside her room and the first thing she did was ask about my Dad.

"James...How is he?" she asked me.

I just hugged her since I didn't know how to tell her. She got it from my hug that something had happened.

"Sadie, What happened to your Dad? Is he okay?" she asked again in the hope that I would say everything was fine, he was fine. Little did she know he was not, and my silence gave her the answer to her question. She started crying, and I hugged her.

The doctor came in to check on her, so I had to go out. I saw Noah standing in the hallway.

"Hey, You Okay? You look tensed," I asked him.

"I should be the one asking you this question Sadie," he replied.

"Yes, but well, as of now, I am asking so please reply to me, Noah," I said in an angry tone. I hated it when people didn't answer my questions directly.

"I am fine. I just don't know what happened to me," he replied.

"Okay," I replied softly, not knowing what to say.

"How is She? Did you tell her?" Noah asked me.

"She is Okay, and Yes, I told her. She is devastated," I said while sitting on the bench. I couldn't take any more of this. I got through this once but never imagined I would have to do it again.

"Of course, she will be. She just lost her husband," he said.

I didn't know what to say, so I just remained quiet.

The doctor came out and told us that she would be discharged tomorrow. She has a minor fracture in her left leg, so she can't walk.

"You have to stay strong now Sadie. For yourself and Ivy also," Noah said.

"I will be. I have to. I know There's no other option," I replied, not knowing how I will handle everything myself.

Liam called Noah to know where he was as they wanted to meet him. He didn't tell them anything and said he was busy. But he had to go since it was urgent.

"Sadie please take care of yourself. I will come at night after finishing the work. If something comes up in between then you can call me, I will come," he said, saving his number in my phone, and he left after that.

Who knew Noah Smith would be such a softie? I could not believe what the hell happened within the last few hours of my life. I lost my Father, Ivy was injured and I talked to Noah for the first time. My emotions were a complete rollercoaster right now.
