A few hours later

Dinner was finally ready, Caitlin went upstairs to call everyone, but she found herself hearing something she didn't expect: laughter!

As he approached Nora's room his heart melted at the sight of a marvelous scene:

"Nora, I don't know what you should be apologizing for! I mean, they're your siblings! If you want to play together, I don't see a problem! They cheered you up and you cheered them up... I don't see what the problem is"

"Morning girls," Caitlin said, as Nora and Lea went downstairs

"Morning Cait," Nora said, speeding towards the table

"Good morning..." Lea said after arriving at the table "Are we alone for breakfast on Christmas Eve?"

"Not exactly, I as Barry and the twins had breakfast at 8:00... but I decided to wait for you two to get up... three hours later"

"Yes, we needed to rest..." Lea said "Not that we needed it..." she added realizing what she had said

"I needed to sleep peacefully for one night" Nora intervened, saving Lea from embarrassment

"Okay, don't worry, we saw you two fall asleep with the twins after playing after dinner, we put them to bed and you two slept like two angels"

"Thank you, you saved me from embarrassment with my boss..." Lea said, breathing a sigh of relief

"He worries you more as a boss than as my father!?"

"Your father is nice to me because I love you, but if he thought we did something in his house next to the twin room he would punish me in a horrible way!"

"How?" Caitlin asked, curious

"Well, there are a lot of disgusting things you happen to do when you work as a CSI, even though as an intern I can't do much, it can still make me do disgusting things like, and I speak from experience, help look for shell casings"

"I don't think it's disgusting"

"It is if you have to do it in a nightclub bathroom on a Saturday night!"

"Oh my God, why am I imagining this!" Nora said in disgust

"Anyway changing the subject for Nora's sake, where's Barry? He didn't have to work today!"

"Well it's at the airport, with all the hustle and bustle we forgot to tell you that we had a guest for Christmas who had to stay over and two others who were only staying for dinner and will be back tomorrow"

"Who?" Nora asked

"Allegra Garcia"

"Wait what?" Nora asked surprised "She was on Iris' side all the time!"

"Not exactly... She was with your father when he found out Iris had lied about her relationship, but the moment Iris used my friendship with your father as a relationship we convinced Allegra to take your mother's side...

In all these years she has always kept in touch with us"

"Wait, was she the one who's been telling you about us all this time? But she doesn't know that I'm a lesbian and she didn't even know about my choices... I hadn't specified in my essay that I thought of dedicating myself to journalism as an alternative... I didn't go into those details"
