They are not the same person

"Barry, what the hell!" yelled Caitlin, as Nora ran out of the room

"How did you get that jacket?" he asked, completely ignoring his wife's outburst

"Years ago Nora and I went out to dinner as friends... after the pizza, she took me home...

We talked about something we had in common... we both lost our father...

That night she fell asleep on my couch...

The next morning she went out early and forgot her jacket...

The next day you entered the speed force and she found herself rewinding time...

When we remembered the jacket... We agreed to spend an evening together and she was going to take it then... but we found out she was working with Thawne, you took her back to the future and my father was killed by Cicada...

No one thought about it...

I found the jacket when I moved here"

"You had no right to keep it and give it to..."

"To Nora!? Barry, I gave your daughter the jacket that was hers from the beginning."

"It wasn't hers! That Nora no longer exists!"

"But you always have her!"

"Do you know where the name Dawn comes from? It was the name I always wanted to give to my daughter... I didn't choose Nora! It wouldn't have been her... and I didn't want to use it, but Iris ignored me and chose Nora..."

"What makes you think they're not the same person? They are identical!"

"Killer Frost, Frost and you are identical in every way, minus the hair color and tan! Yet you are not the same person"

"Don't you dare use my dead sister to strengthen your argument!"

"You don't do the same to my dead daughter!"

"But... Barry"

"Do you remember when Iris was in labor?"

"Yes, I remind you that I delivered Nora... We were alone since you hadn't returned from the speed force yet..."

"There I saw Nora... the Nora I lost... She told me that she wasn't being born, but that she was happy that that little girl would be loved..."

"Oh..."

"Now do you understand why I reacted like that? She's not that Nora!"

"So, put it this way..."

"Which?"

"We are giving Nora the jacket of her late older sister after which she is named"

"It doesn't help..."

"It doesn't even help that you yelled at Nora! She didn't even know about the other Nora!"

"Oh, my God... I always thought she knew..."

"I'm going to talk to her, you wait here Barry..."

"No, Cait, I have to tell her about her..."

Nora's bedroom

"Nora? Can I come in?" Barry asked, slowly opening the door, bracing himself for rejection

"Why? Why did you treat me like this?"

"I'm so sorry... it's not easy..."

"It's simple for me! You yelled at me for no reason!"

"There was a reason for my reaction, but it wasn't enough to justify what I did, I'm sorry"

"What was this reason?"

"Years ago, during Jenna's baby shower, we had a peculiar visitor from the future... Nora West-Allen"

"What? Did I go back in time?"

"It wasn't you... it was an alternate version of you"

"What?"

"She came from a future where I died when you were barely 3"

"What?"

"She went back in time to get to know me after discovering your powers... Eventually, she sort of did it...

In the end, she had anticipated the crisis of the multiverse by several years and I had survived... but she had been erased from the timeline"

"What?"

"Yes, she died in my arms..."

"Was she me?"

"Not exactly... you are the same person, but you have nothing in common, apart from your appearance, name and DNA... you are completely different"

"Was the jacket hers? Was it from the other Nora?"

"Yes... "

"And you don't want me to have the jacket of the daughter you met..."

"Iris had to know you all her life, and she kept most of our memories of that Nora... when I saw you wearing that jacket I thought of nothing but the daughter I had lost, not the one I found...

I had done the thing I promised myself not to do...

Compare you to her"

"What does it mean?"

"Except maybe, thanks to Caitlin, I found a way to cope with Nora's death"

"Meaning what?"

"Stop thinking of you two as two versions of the same person...and think of you as the daughter who bears the same name as the sister who died to allow you to be born...

The sister I'm sure would love to give you that jacket"

"If you don't want me to use it..."

"It was from your older sister, if you want it, you can have it... do you want me to tell you about her?"

"Yes, I would love to..."
