Pain...

The first thing you felt was pain. It surged through your body with great intensity. Each wave of pain would crash against your nerves, as if it was trying to break and tear your feeble body apart.

Despite all this, you didn't make a sound.

No screams of agony...

No cries for help...

You just sat there, jerking and twisting as each pulse of energy shot through you.

All of your other senses were absent. You are unaware of how much time is going by, for all you know it could have been days. At least... that is how it felt.

Hearing...

Hearing was the first sense to return. You swear you could hear a flow of energy around you. Each pulse rattled your body. The sounds would spike through your spine and up into your ears. The next thing you heard was shouting. Many different entities were yelling. You could make out the sounds of what seemed to be struggles between many people. All of those sounds were quickly drowned out by a deep roar that shook the room and your body. You felt a sudden intense heat. The source of it, you could only assume, came from that roaring entity.

Smell...

Next thing you knew, the smell of smoke stung your nostrils. The intensity from the smell added a whole 'nother layer to the pain you were experiencing. While it was already hard to breathe, the smell of smoke entering your lungs created a more intense struggle. You heard yourself make a sound for the first time as you violently coughed, trying to get rid of the smog that invaded your body. The pain would travel from your chest into your throat, causing you to gag and cough even more violently.

Taste...

A metallic taste began to form on your tongue. The more you coughed, the more you tasted. You felt a warm liquid form on your tongue as you choked on the thick, polluted air around you. Desperately, you began to gasp for air, only to inhale the fluid you had just coughed up. The acidity of the liquid stung your throat causing the taste to climb into your nose.

You were overwhelmed by the senses that filled your body. Pain shot through every nerve while you desperately tried to cough out the warm liquid you were inhaling.

You couldn't breathe. You began to panic as your senses started to go numb. While you don't know why, you felt as if you needed to survive.

You then heard yourself make a new sound...

You finally began to attempt to scream and cry.

The sound that came out of you, however, was nowhere near a scream. You barely had any air to make a sound louder than a feeble whimper.

You could no longer breathe in after that. Your body began to jerk less than before, as if it was finally giving into the torment it endured. Your ears were ringing as all of your other senses began to die. You knew death was near.

Suddenly, the pain that was shooting through your body abruptly came to an end. Your body went limp as the sound of the energy around you died.

For a second, everything was still.

You then felt a new energy flow through your body. The ringing in your ears came to an end as the energy put an intense pressure on your chest. Once the pressure was lifted, your lungs naturally inhaled a sharp breath. The air was cool and clean. You inhaled and exhaled violently, trying to get in as much of the air as possible. The energy continued to fill your senses. It cooled your body and calmed your fear. Only now you could feel the hot tears that have been running down your face the whole time.

Your final sense finally began to recover.

Sight...

Light crept into the side of your eyes as you began to see groups of blurred colors. Those colors slowly began to form into your surroundings. A hue of bright colors surrounded you, as shimmering triangles, circles, and squares would pop in and out of your vision.

It was a beautiful sight.

Your sudden gain of vision wouldn't last long though, as your body began to give into exhaustion. Darkness began to swallow up the color and lights that were around you.

As you began to lose consciousness, you could barely make out words spoken from a deep but hushed voice.

"Are they going to be ok?"

That was the last thing you heard as everything went dark and all of your senses ceased to exist.
