Duality (Luigi x Reader)

Ch. 6

"We better get going now if we don't want to miss it." Jr said as he looked at you with anticipation.

I'm so going to regret doing this.

"Alright, let's go." You said as you turned to Jr and nodded.

Jr then swiftly grabbed your hand and touched the warp box.

For only a second, everything went dark and it was as if you were in an entirely different plane of existence. The ground felt like it disappeared beneath you as a falling feeling lept in your stomach and everything went cold. Your feet then made contact with solid ground as you were quickly brought back to much warmer surroundings.

As you opened your eyes, you noticed you seemed to be on the top of an old battlement of a tower with a tall building connecting to it.

As you began to look around, you were shocked at how big these ruins actually were.

Stone bricks and foundations of what this castle used to be were littered everywhere, most of it submerged in lava. There was what looked like a massive bridge in front of what used to be the main fondation, both of which were being held high above the lava sea below. Old and damaged towers were littered everywhere. Castle turrets pierced the dark cloudy skies, many of them with holes and missing tiles.

You then noticed your fathers current castle far in the distance. Much farther away than you had anticipated. You had heard of the ruins, but you didn't think they were the ruins of a full fledged castle.

"Jr? Do you know what exactly happened to this old cast-"

"Look!" Jr interrupted in a whisper shout. "Father and Kamek are here!"

You looked down to see both your father and Kamek standing on the end of the bridge to what used to be the arch from the entrance to the castle. You also noticed a large cage that hung from the top of the arch.

You saw who you could only assume was Princess Peach in the cage. She wore a poofy pink dress and a gold and blue tiara. You stared at the cage trying to see behind the bars to get a better look at her, but you were a bit too far away.

You had never seen another human before, at least that you could remember...

You then watched as Bowser and Kamek conversed between each other. You weren't sure if it was in your head, but Bowser looked nervous.

This in return made you very nervous.

It was unnervingly quiet as you and Jr sat there in silence waiting for something to happen. The only thing you could hear was the soft murmurs between Kamek and your father, along with the bubbling and spouting of the lava below.

However, it wasn't long before the silence was broken by the sound of a warp pipe emerging out of the ground on the other side of the bridge.

Two humans emerged from the pipe, one jumping out after the other, landing side by side.

They both had mustaches and wore white gloves and blue denim overalls along with the same under shirt and cap.

The only difference between their outfits was the color.

One wore a red undershirt and cap while the other wore green. You weren't positive, but it looked as if there were letters embroidered onto the front of their caps.

The one in red was shorter than the other and seemed to have an M on his cap. He looked angry and seemed to hold themselves confidently. You assumed this to be Mario.

The one in the green was taller and looked to have an L on his cap. Unlike the other, he didn't look as angry. He had a serious expression, but seemed to hold himself in a more hesitant fashion. You assumed this to be Luigi.
