A voice echoed around you.

You dare to act as god?

It kept repeating over and over with the tone never changing. It was as if you were listening to a broken record...

You dare to act as god?

You dare to act as god?

You dare to act as god?

You dare-

"(y/n)?"

You opened your eyes slowly as a voice broke the repeating cycle in your mind.

"(y/n)? Are you ok?" The worried voice, which you finally registered as Luigi's, once again spoke to you.

You raised your head from where it was resting and looked up to meet his nervous eyes with your exhausted ones.

"Umm... yes?" You answered slowly, still attempting to wake up your brain.

You were kind of unsure of what was going on until you remembered where you were and why you were there.

Oh yeah, I was clearing things up with Luigi.

I must've fallen asleep.

...

Wait...

Was I just laying on his shoulder?

Huh, that must be why he woke me up...

"Sorry..." You muttered, finding yourself to be surprisingly calm. "I didn't mean to lean on you like that."

You just assumed that you accidentally fell onto his shoulder in your sleep, but you felt far too sleepy to bother worrying about something like that.

"That's not why I woke you..." He said quietly, worry still lacing his voice. "You're... crying..."

You raised your eyebrow at him in confusion, but sure enough, when you brought your hand up to your face, you felt wet tears falling from your eyes.

You began to feel more awake as your mind tried to process why exactly you had been crying.

You remembered the unfamiliar voice you heard, but that was all it was, just a voice. It didn't seem like any sort of nightmare or dream, it was just that voice speaking an odd sentence over and over again.

Have I heard that before?

Whatever it may have been, you didn't have any feelings of sadness, fear, or anger...

You just felt tired and confused.

"That's odd. I don't know why I'm crying..." You said while swiftly wiping the tears off your face.

You felt slightly embarrassed, but had a feeling Luigi wasn't the kind of person to judge people for stuff like this.

You looked back at Luigi and saw that he had a confused look on his face.

"What?" You asked as he continued to look at you.

"Oh, s-sorry." He stuttered while breaking his perplexed stare. "It's just that, well... you weren't having a nightmare, were you?"

"Not really..." You answered, tilting your head slightly at him. "I don't think I even had anything close to a nightmare, or even a dream, so I'm just as confused... Uh, how long have I been asleep for?"

"For a while." He said while standing up. "I was about to wake you anyways..."

You looked up at Luigi who was now looking at the large silver tree with a concerned look in his eyes.
