When the airship arrived at New Donk City, you were amazed and fascinated by the way it looked.

The city was built high above the sea, not a single piece of naturally occurring land around it. The buildings and structures of the city stood tall and appeared to be closely built together as they unevenly touched the sky at different heights.

However, one structure stood out from the rest. It was a huge, blocky tower covered in symmetrical windows. The building was built to a sharp point, and the needle-like structure at the very top pierced the sky above, going beyond the height of a few clouds slowly drifting by.

"I bet this place is quite different compared to the Nullius Woodlands!"

Both you and Luigi slightly jumped at the sudden chipper voice of Toadsworth, turning to see him now standing next to you and looking up at you with a smile.

"Oh, yeah..." You muttered. "It's pretty different."

With this, you tried your best to snap back into the previous false depiction of yourself. Despite still being frustrated over the fact that Luigi called your father 'evil', you knew that currently dwelling on that while playing this role could put you at risk.

For now, you were just a normal human from the Nullius Woodlands.

For now, you had to be on their side.

As the ship got docked on a platform near the outskirts of the city, the others came out of the main cabin, joining your side as they spoke amongst each other.

While the ramp of the ship was being put down, you took this chance to glance over at Waluigi.

You weren't sure what was said to him, but he appeared to be a bit calmer than before as he stood there speaking quietly to Wario.

"Hey (y/n)!" Daisy said cheerfully, breaking you out of your thoughts as she suddenly put her arm around your shoulder. "You haven't met Pauline yet, right?"

"Um, no, I haven't..." You laughed nervously while slowly pulling yourself away from her.

"Well, just to give you a bit of a heads up, Pauline can come off as, well... a bit cold. Despite how intimidating she may seem though, she's actually a great person!" Daisy enthusiastically explained. "She's a great mediator at meetings, mostly because Waluigi's pretty terrified of her!"

"You realize I can hear you, right?" Waluigi said in a tired tone while Wario burst out into unnecessarily loud laughter.

"She's right! You are scared of Pauline!" Wario shouted as he laughed. "Good luck trying to be an ass during this meeting you purple bastard!

You were a bit surprised at how Wario would insult his brother, but Waluigi didn't seem too angered when he spoke like this to him. You wondered if this was just how they always interacted.

Waluigi just looked blankly at his brother before pulling forward the goggles that sat on Wario's head and letting go, the goggles snapping into his face. He then turned around and casually walked down the airship's ramp while Wario let out a string of curses, attempting to follow Waluigi as he struggled to adjust back his goggles. However, this only resulted in Wario tripping and falling down the ramp.

"I'M OK!" Wario called out, causing Daisy to just roll her eyes and head down the ramp as well.

"I'm honestly still not used to them being here for stuff like this..." Mario said quietly.

"You're not the only one." Toadsworth sighed.

"Yes, but it seems Daisy really is trying her best to help them!" Peach chimed in. "I'm sure things will only get easier with those two in time."
