Aloria watched Wednesday stare at her murder board. She's been trying to solve the mystery of the monster for a while now, and a part of Aloria felt bad for not helping nearly as much as she could. Though to be fair, she kind of has her own mystery to solve. These odd dreams, that weird butterfly, and of course, trying to locate her father. There's been no progress on that front. None of her friends could find any clues, but Thing assured her that the Addams Family was still searching. She tried not to get her hopes up though.
Enid walked over to Wednesday and grimaced at the murder board. "When I suggested giving your side of the room a makeover, I did not have Ted Bundy's Pinterest in mind."
Fair point, Aloria had to agree. She also found the board . . . unsettling, to say the least.
"Still not as creepy as your stuffed unicorn collection," Wednesday snapped back making Aloria snicker and Enid glare at her.
"Is this why you snuck out last night?"
"Thing and I may have made an unsanctioned trip to the county morgue to copy the files of the monsters victims." Wednesday had said this so nonchalantly that Aloria was almost convinced it wasn't a big deal. Almost.
"Okay," Enid cringed, "there are so many levels of ew in that statement, and I don't even know where to begin."
Wednesday shook her head slightly. "I need to get inside its head. Discover any patterns or anomalies." She glanced back at Enid. "I've already made a big discovery." She started to grab some of the pictures off the board. "Turns out all of the monsters victims have had body parts surgically removed." She walked to Enid and started handing her the pictures as she listed them. Aloria slowly stood up from her bed, she knew where this was going. "The first one a kidney, the second one a finger—"
"Wednesday, I don't really feel," Enid slurred her words.
"The third one a gall bladder," she continued before holding up a finger and going back to the board to grab another picture while Enid started taking deep breaths. "And the bearded man from the meeting house," she handed it to Enid, "two toes. Do you understand what this means?" She went back to the board and Aloria kind of loved seeing this side of Wednesday, all invested. "These murders aren't mindless. He's collecting trophies like a seasoned serial killer." Enid's eyes rolled to the back of her head and she passed out. Aloria who had already positioned herself behind her caught her. "It's quite impressive, actually." Wednesday turned around to see Enid limp in Aloria's arms. She just stared blankly for a moment before turning to Thing who did his version of a shrug. "Fetch the smelling salts. Again."

"While most plants reward their pollinators with sweet nectar," Thornhill taught the class, "many carnivorous varieties turn to sexual trickery or deception."
Aloria was next to Divina in class this time. She made Kent switch with her because she and her sister had an unfinished conversation from Outreach Day. She pointed at Divina, mimed talking with her hand, and then pointed at herself.
Divina sighed and whispered, "I was hoping you'd forgotten about that since now Enid isn't going for Ajax."
In all honesty, she did forget. Outreach day was days ago, but all the talk around school of the dance and dates reminded her. Enid told her herself that she liked someone, but Divina had said "Enid likes" which meant she knew who it was. And Aloria wanted to know too. Even if it might be better that she doesn't. She shook her head and tapped the table with her finger twice, telling her to say it now.
