Two weeks later and Aloria could officially say she mastered the art of teleportation. Bianca told her it was about damn time to which Aloria told her to come at her again when she learns how to teleport. Bianca had no response.
It was interesting at first with both Bianca and Enid staying at the beach house. In the beginning all three stayed in Aloria's room since, after all, she was the one to bring them over. But after Bianca walking in on the two girlfriends making out eight times in seventy two hours, Divina rescued her from the room and let her stay in hers.
Family Swim Day was either great or a little awkward depending on who you asked. Since Enid was the only non-siren, she couldn't go swimming with the family plus Bianca, so of course, Aloria chose to stay behind with her as the others went. It wasn't hard to figure out what the two girls were up to when everyone else was out of the house. So yes, Family Swim Day was great for Aloria and Enid, but a little awkward for the others knowing what was happening once they left.
The average day was filled with a little more chaos what with two extra people, but always a lot of fun. They played a lot of games that Kent always seemed to find himself losing. Once they even played Monopoly which in hindsight was probably a bad idea. There was yelling, crying, money showers, laying dead-inside on the floor, and some hands thrown. Each of them did one of those things. They vowed to never play Monopoly again.
After the disaster that was the night of the board-game-that-shall-not-be-named, everything was going good. The days passed and everything was fine until Jasmine and Silas had everyone sit down in the living room.
"Okay, kids, me and your mother have something to tell you," Silas began. "We have to go on a work trip for a few days with your Aunt Cecilia but during that time she needs someone to babysit her kids."
"Oooo," Kent hissed, "can't, I'm busy those days."
Jasmine crossed her arms. "We haven't told you the days yet."
"Well, what are the days?"
"This coming Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday."
Kent snapped and pointed at her. "See, knew it. Busy those days."
"Busy doing what exactly?" Silas asked unconvinced.
Kent's face fell. "Uhhh."
Thankfully for him, Divina threw her arm over his shoulder. "We were going to go visit Yoko."
"Yeah, we," Bianca joined in as she gestured to the three of them, "already promised to be there."
Kent nodded. "You don't seriously want us to break a promise, do you?"
Jasmine and Silas sighed, turning to Aloria and Enid who watched their "friends" with dropped jaws. They really just threw them under the bus for this babysitting gig.
"We'll pay you both $15 an hour," Silas offered. "Keep in mind we're talking three full days."
Enid threw her arm over Aloria's shoulders with a smile. "We would be glad to babysit some kids."
Aloria raised her eyebrows at her girlfriend. She changed her tune real quick.
See, now being disowned, Enid was the official broke one in the relationship and she now understood the disdain that Aloria had for the position. She felt like a leech having to have Aloria and her family provide for her. And she didn't need to be good at math to know that 15x72 was a big number.
Aloria was good at math. The answer was $1080 and even she had to admit that sounded pretty good. She looked at her parents. What's the worse that could happen? "I guess we're your babysitters then."
