"I'm scared." Niki mumbled as he stared at the window of Sunoo's room.

His three older brothers looked at him with a sigh before they made him turn so they could look at him.

"It's normal that you're scared. But you have to be brave and face it." Jake said to him.

"It's Sunoo. He needs an explanation for what happened and you're the only one who has to give him that. He can understand you and whatever he says, you have to learn to accept it." Jay added and smiled warmly at their youngest to comfort him.

"Okay. Thanks hyungs!" He said and hugged the three one by one before he turned around to look at the room again.

"We'll get going." He heard what Heeseung said before they suddenly left like the wind.

Niki took a deep breath as he finally stepped closer to the house and effortlessly jumped over the fence. He climbed on the wall and made it to the window. He slowly opened it very carefully to make sure that he would not wake Sunoo who was probably sleeping inside.

When he successfully got in. He immediately looked for the mortal he had longed for since he left to head to the Hexis wolves' territory.

But upon scanning the room, he did not see the mortal and noticed that his bed is not organized. A lot of papers are scattered on his bed.

He must've stayed all night doing all this...

He figured Sunoo would be downstairs in the kitchen. He always goes there and drinks a whole pitcher of milk until he falls asleep. Especially when he gets tired finishing his math homework.

So he opened the door of the room and quietly walked in the hallway. Listening for any human noise. He could hear the clear snoring of the two humans beside Sunoo's room. Which is probably his mom and step dad sleeping at this hour.

He continued walking down the stairs and got to the living room first. He immediately noticed how the decoration looks exactly from three years ago. Although the furniture is different, the way they are placed looks exactly the same. And it reminded him when he first bit Sunoo on his neck and gave him his mark.

"Where are you..." he whispered as he tried to suppress the tears that's been forming in his eyes.

He eventually turned to make his way to the kitchen.

And finally, he is right there. Sitting by the stool with a glass of milk on his hand as he stares into nothingness.

He noticed that his eyes are puffy and red, his nose too so it looks like he's been crying for a while.

Niki wanted to call his name. But he somehow couldn't bring himself to do so. So he just stood there and watched his mate finishing the third glass of milk for the night.

He could feel the familiar butterflies in his stomach just by watching the mortal and realizing how much he misses him. How much he wants to hug Sunoo right now and never part from him again.

"What am I even doing?" Sunoo suddenly scoffed to himself as he placed the unfinished glass on the kitchen island.

He stood up and figured to just go back to his room since drinking the milk only reminds him more of the reason why he can't fall asleep again.

And the moment he turned around...

All his movements halted as he stared eye to eye with the vampire he hadn't seen for years.

"N-Niki..." Sunoo muttered with a shaky breath as tears began to cloud his sight.

He watched as a sad smile formed on Niki's lips upon hearing him say his name. The vampire slowly lifted his hand to him and said...
