A Tale of Vampires: RETURN

"You must be Jungwon… Do you remember me?" Ej asked as he looked at the young vampire.

Ej can remember him too.

They met first at The Bridge where the massive quinses attack happened. When they met again, Jungwon was tempted by Rhian to drink from a quinses corpse. And it wasn't a very pleasant meeting.

Jungwon worried that Ej might remember it and see it as a horrible impression of him.

"Y-yes." The vampire replied timidly as he tried to avoid the wolf's gaze. But he was confused when Ej suddenly laughed before turning to the other two vampires.

"He's really cute. It's a shame Taki's not here, he's gonna like him." He said with a full smile as if the corner of his lips can go further.

"Yup! He wanted to go out for some air so I hope you guys don't mind if we ran past the borders." Sunghoon said and Jungwon could understand very less why his brothers acted like they never hated wolves in their long life.

"Oh no! Of course not! It's not like we're strangers! You guys are welcome here." Ej said cheerfully and turned behind him when three wolves suddenly arrived and the one on the front padded close to him.

He listened to the wolf telepathically. His smile faded a bit and stared blankly at the young wolf who quickly lowered its head upon his gaze.

And that is why Jay keeps saying he's different among other wolves….

Jungwon thought as he observed him.

"What's wrong?" Jake asked, noticing the sour expression.

"Lumberjacks." Ej responded with spite. 

He said something to the wolves before they all started running to the direction where the three came from.

Then he looked back to the three vampires with the same smile again. And it creeped Jungwon because he reminded her of a she-vampire from Arcadia.

"They've done a lot of illegal logging when we were away. K was really furious when he learned that and a lot from the Grim Empire was fired over night. Your mortal friend might've heard about it by now."

"Really? Were you guys able to apprehend them?" Sunghoon asked.

"No worries. We'll take care of it. You guys should also scour your territory in case trespassers are lurking. No one guarded for 2 years so it's only normal for this to happen." Ej chuckled and then looked again at Jungwon.

"It's nice to see you kid. When Niki visits, you should also come over. Taki has heard so much about you from him and he really wants to meet you too." He said before turning to the two older again. And this time, with a serious expression.

"Those ass**les all came from the North. Your territory is closer there, so I'm sure there might be more hiding somewhere in your forest. I wouldn't suggest feeding from them, it might draw in the NIS. And I know it's the last thing y'all want to deal with."

"Of course. Thanks for the heads up."

"But where would you take them though? All the trespassers we captured last night were taken to the authorities but they were taken by the NIS." Ej suddenly asked but only out of curiosity.

"Wait! We're trespassers too! Are we also gonna be taken by the NIS?" Jungwon suddenly interrupted, which made the three laugh.

"No! Like I said! You and your friends are welcome here!" Ej laughed.

"No worries. We'll have Karina take care of the trespassers." Jake chuckled and Ej nodded in understanding.

"Right. Heeseung's girlfriend is a CIA agent." The wolf chuckled before eventually stepping back for enough space to shift.

"I'll see you guys soon." Ej said before shifting and leaving to follow the group of wolves.

"What's wrong? You seem uptight around him." Jake finally asked as he had been noticing for a while how Jungwon was trying to avoid Ej's gaze.

"Is this about the quinses blood?" Sunghoon asked and Jungwon looked at him a bit shocked.

"H-how did you know that! Did he tell you about it!?" Jungwon growls and the two only laugh in response.

"No! Heeseung did. You unconsciously think about it every time. It's okay Jungwon. We're vampires. And we all did the same that day for the sake of surviving on the battlefield." Jake said to him hoping it might help Jungwon to think less of that scenario.

"Exactly. If it makes you feel better. I drank an alien's blood and I actually thought I took drugs but it was just King Yalex controlling us all to be more hostile." Sunghoon added before beckoning the two to run back to their territory.

"Holy sh*t! Me too!" Jake suddenly cackled and soon the three eventually laughed on their way back to their territory. Simply talking about the hilarious events that happened in battle.

After meeting with the vampires, Ej finally arrived at the location he was told.

The wolves he had sent earlier must've already apprehended the illegal loggers and has been captured.

Unlike what he told the vampires.

Their pack doesn't just surrender the trespassers of their territory. They capture them and lock them in their main hideout underground where they will be punished and tortured overnight. 

K would show them a lesson with not a single mercy. Making them all wish to just be killed on the spot. But the alpha believes that keeping them alive is even more sweeter of a punishment.

And after they are tortured. Nicholas will take their memories away before the lower officials bring them to the authority for lawful punishment.

The wolf scanned the place with spite. There's about two hundred trees that were taken down from that spot. 

Ej is a wolf that is gifted with the power to be connected with nature. He can feel it when their territory is hurt, so he also felt it that there were trees that were taken down.

He had always deemed that nature is alive and that he learned how to speak to them. It is a very rare skill that only one in a million people can do.

"You're here." Ej turns around upon hearing his leader's voice. "Are you alright? They took down a lot of trees this time." He added and Ej immediately responded with a small smile.

"I'm okay. But mending them with magic is obviously impossible now." He said with a sad tone before turning back to the view of the tree-empty space.

"It's alright. Many of our new boys had been learning from you. They'll help to plant new trees in this space." K assured him as he also looked at the empty space before them.

"That's nice to hear. But I knew some of these trees. And I'd like to be in charge of torturing those putrid humans this time."
