A Tale of Vampires: RETURN

"Where are you going?" 

Sunoo asks as he slowly sits up from bed. It was around 5am when he felt Niki carefully getting out of his hold. After years of being separated from him and suddenly getting reunited, he became rather sensitive when it comes to his touch. So he knows right away if Niki is not with him.

He can sense him like breathing air.

The vampire turns to him with a bit baffled expression. He didn't expect he'd wake up since he was planning to leave as quietly as possible.

"Uhm… K hyung sent a message… They sent more people to the shore. Heeseung hyung wants us to be there before the humans arrive." Niki explains.

The old him would have lied about it so as to not worry Sunoo. But he promised he didn't wanna keep secrets from him anymore. Especially after what happened.

"Will it be a big fight?" Sunoo asks but worries.

He trusts Niki that he can handle himself. He's a vampire after all. But it doesn't take away the worry every time he knows Niki will be going to a bloody fight.

"It's against humans. We've had worse." Niki chuckled as he sat beside his boyfriend. Wrapping his arms on his waist as he pressed his chin on his shoulder.

He looked at him adoringly and smiled. "I'll come back to you. I promise." He says and leaned close to kiss him.

Sunoo smiles into the kiss before the two separate a minute later.

"Okay. Do I stay here or do I need to leave with the others if you're all going away to fight?" He asks as they both stood up and made their way to the bathroom.

"Winter and Karina are actually coming with us. But I heard Jay hyung asked Giselle to leave for a moment. You should come with her. And besides, you still have work, right?" 

Sunoo nods. Now that he thinks about it, he still has an important position on his work that he needs to take care of. He worked so hard to get there so he wanted to do his best work.

"Okay. We'll take a shower first then I'll leave with her." He said with a small smile and the two eventually entered the bathroom.

Meanwhile…

Jungwon went to the sky lounge as he wait for the others who are still preparing to leave. He sat by the grills and stared at the view of the forest. 

Ever since he came back, he always find a solemn peace at the view. The sky lounge had become his favorite place as it also reminds him os a special someone who had become his mate the day she left.

He pulled something from his pocket and stared at it.

It was a wooden emblem that has the symbol of a noble clan of Cins. Danielle gave it to him as something that will comfort him when he misses her.

And because Danielle is officially his mate. Feeding blood from other creatures never satisfy his thirst anymore. Just as how it went for Niki and Sunoo.

Even when they apprehended the humans at the shore, the blood he took. It made him only more thirsty and longed for something else that will be better.

It sounded gore or weird for him but his hyung had already told him the consequences of marking a lady that he doesn't even have a contact with anymore.

"Hey." The vampire quickly turned around when he heard Heeseung.

He walked towards the younger and sat beside him on the grills. Noticing the emblem that Jungwon was holding.

"How are you holding up?" He asks and Jungwon blinks his eyes at him before bringing his gaze back to the emblem.

"I miss her… And I wanna see her." He says honestly. He didn't bother hiding the fact especially with Heeseung.
