A Tale of Vampires: RETURN

"Search the area! They must've left tracks! Follow them!!!" Some among the soldiers yell as everyone runs around frantically.

But most of them are scared, especially by the fact that a big and hostile wolf is now on the loose. Not one but two.

Unbeknownst to them of the other three beings that are waiting for the right moment to begin their torment.

Even without the entire pack of wolves, nor the whole crew of vampires. It is very clear that the trespassers stand no chance. Even with the weapon they have.

"Look at them... They look like rats afraid for their dear life." K muttered with a cynical smirk.

Ej and Heeseung could only exchange looks. K always goes through that mood whenever he wants to avenge one of his own.

"I'll start first... You two know the plan." Heeseung said as he stood up first from their hiding spot.

Heeseung bolted at a lightning speed and destroyed each and every camera that Ej pointed at earlier. His movements alarmed the humans because they were unable to see him at first because of his speed.

And after destroying all of their recorders, Heeseung stopped in the very middle and stood on top of the empty cages.

There's no point of hiding his face knowing that no one will make it out alive.

The humans quickly pointed a gun at Heeseung. And yet before they could pull the trigger, a weird howling sound interrupted their ears. It was soon followed by the ground lightly shaking and humongous roots started appearing from the ground. It wrapped all over their heavy equipment and even their own tents. Burying it all deep into the ground.

And as it all happens, the humans caught a glimpse of the alpha. He is bigger than the first two wolves they captured. And much more aggressive and hostile.

K growls and looks at them like they are all fresh meat. He doesn't really kill humans unless his pack is harmed. Today is one of those days.

A lot of the soldiers screamed in terror as they all fled for their lives. But the trees suddenly began moving until it formed a wall around them. Removing any path they can take to escape.

Not far from them...

Jay and the rest of the crews had already met up altogether after scouring their territory. They heard the strange noise coming from the heart of the forest and they decided to follow it. On their way, they were able to stop three trucks that were bringing in heavy equipment to their illegal base. Of course, any humans involved became a meal after one of them fired a shot at Ningning.

"I smell K and Ej's scent." Niki said and turned to look at Jay. "Heeseung is probably there too, right?" He asked.

Jay briefly looked at him before nodding.

"Jungwon! Ningning. The two of you check what's happening inside. The rest of us will continue to scour the area to make sure no humans are left."

The two mentioned nodded their heads.

Jungwon moved beside Ningning and grabbed her arm. He released his wings before flying up into the sky with the she-vampire. The two landed on top of the wall of trees and it allowed them to see what was currently happening inside.

The ground is flooded with fresh blood and it made the two have the strong urge to jump in and bathe in it. A lot of humans are scattered with cut off limbs or necks bitten out. The two could see from the top how K tears them all apart alongside the other two. But what captured their attention is that one single human that is kneeling with Heeseung and Ej on his side. Heeseung was holding the man by his shoulder so he wouldn't be able to flee.

"Hey. I just finished my meeting. Why were you calling earlier?" Giselle asls through the phone while also checking the new models through the ipad that her secretary was holding for her.

"I've been calling Niki because we were supposed to meet up for lunch. He won't return my calls. Even Karina or Winter." Sunoo rants from the other line.

"Aren't you being a little paranoid? They literally just came back from the moon." Giselle chuckled and pointed at the models she liked before beckoning her secretary to leave while she continued to make her way back to her office.

"I know that! But they came back this morning! I even got a call from him and he was the one who said he'll come to join me and my parents for lunch! So we were expecting him!"

"Maybe he's just busy. You know about their deal with the trespassers. Something probably came up. And it's not like Niki can't handle himself. He's a vampire for crying out loud. Heeseung would be dam*ed if something happens to him again." Giselle said with a huff as she sat back on her chair and opened her computer.

It's really a busy day for her so she was able to preoccupy herself instead of whining about how much she misses Jay.

"You're right. But wouldn't you be worried if you're on my spot? And not only that. I was talking with Taki because obviously my boyfriend ditched me for lunch. Somebody came to him and whispered something then he suddenly left! He seems really furious too! Not worried! Furious!"

Giselle huffs out loud as she stops fighting.

"And?!! What exactly do you want me to do?" She drawled and then heard Sunoo sighing on the other line.

"I'm just really worried. Can you at least try to bug Karina to ask? She won't return my calls! But you and I both know she can't stand you annoying her!" Sunoo tried convincing her.

"Fine! If it's what it takes to shut you up! I'll give her a call! Goodbye!" Giselle aggressively pressed the end button of the call before searching for Karina's name in her contact.

Karina isn't answering her phone either. But of course, Sunoo would not trust her for nothing.

It took a total of 26 missed calls first before she was able to receive a response.

"What the fu**!? Why the hell would you ramp my phone with missed calls?!" Karina blurted out right away as she answered the phone.

"Bi*ch! If you had your phone with you maybe you'll know! Where the hell have you been anyway!?" Giselle asks in a bitchy tone.

"I was in the sky lounge with Jungwon's girlfriend. She came back with them this morning."

"And?! Were you two so busy having a getting to know session that you forgot your phone?!"

"Quit being a bit*h Giselle! Why did you and Sunoo call?"

"Apparently. Niki invited Sunoo and his parents to lunch but he ditched them. And he wasn't responding to any of his calls. I was in the middle of a meeting when he started bugging me. What's Niki been doing!?"

"It's been a tough hour. We've been watching them from the sky lounge. Danielle said they found the base of the trespassers so they went there. K's really mad because two from his pack were captured. They just got back with one soldier that they kept alive. Probably for interrogation." Karina explains and Giselle is rendered speechless.

"Oh... And Jay?"

"He's alright. And don't worry. I'll ask Niki to call Sunoo. Sorry for the long wait. It was just pretty busy here."

"It's fine. Thanks for explaining. But please tell Jay to come see me if he has nothing else to do. I'll probably be staying in my office."

"Sure."

Giselle bid her goodbye before eventually ending the call. She called Sunoo again just to inform him before going back to her own business.

It became a little hard to focus now after finding out what happened but she just have to make sure she finishes the tasks.
