-Kyleigh's POV-

It's been three days since Dylan died. We held a funeral for him, where Posey said some heartbreakingly kind words about his late best friend. They met in kindergarten on the very first day of class, and they have been best friends ever since. They went through their best moments together and their worst, and Posey wouldn't have it any other way. Even though I didn't know Dylan for that long, my heart still weighs heavy at the thought that I'll never see him again. I can't imagine how Posey feels right now, and I hope I'll never have to.

The weather has been nicer today than the last few days. I am currently helping Reece plant some more seeds in the greenhouse, Erica and Blake are searching for supplies nearby, Jared and Abigail are watching over Posey back at the house, and Luke, Ashton, Calum, and Jensen all offered help to build a fence around the greenhouse to make it more secure. It's our main source of food now, and we don't want another incident to happen like the day we met Reece and Blake. Ever since the two boys helped us a few nights ago, our groups have been getting undeniably closer.

I rip open a bag of seeds and wait for Reece to finish prepping the area.

"I don't know how to phrase this properly, but I feel like I know nothing about you," Reece randomly comments as he uses a tool to dig up some dirt, "I mean, we have known each other for a few days now, but I feel like we haven't really talked, you know?"

"What do you want to know? I'm an open book," I say as I pour some seeds into the hole.

"Hmmm," Reece hums as he thinks of his first question, "How long have you known everyone?  Did you meet before or after the apocalypse started?" He finally asks.

"The only person I knew from before was Erica. We have been best friends for longer than I can remember," I reply, pausing as I use a baby watering can to pour water on the freshly planted seeds, "I met everyone else after this nightmare started."

"So how long have you known Luke?" Reece questions before quickly adding, "I just got the sense that the two of you were extremely close. Especially on the day that we met."

"We met a few months back, but we've spent every day together since, so it feels like I have known him a lifetime. But in all honestly, we weren't that close until recently. It took us a long time to see eye to eye," I reply with a small laugh.

"Really?" Reece asks with raised eyebrows.

"Yeah," I smile, "But I'm really happy with where we are now. I wouldn't change it for the world."

Reece grins before saying, "You two are lucky to have found each other."

"Trust me, I know," I reply.

Reece continues to ask questions, and before I know it, I'm informing Reece about every single detail that has happened to me during the apocalypse. While I talk, we continue working with Reece catering to the growing plants and me starting to pick the items that are ready to be eaten.

I start from the beginning, explaining how I had just come home from work and was in the shower when the power went off. I then tell him about Niall, Shawn, and Michael and how I wish he could have met them all. Eventually, I move on to the dynamics between me, Erica, Luke, Calum, and Ashton, and how our group grew even more when we met Abigail, Jensen, and Jared. Finally, I tell him about the whole Harry experience, where we met Dylan and Posey.

By the end, I'm completely out of breath, and I laugh as Reece lets out an exasperated breath.

"That was a lot," Reece replies.
