Headcanon 8: Marriage

What if Bob was getting married?

I want to write 2 different scenarios.

1) He's not a criminal/he's not a caught criminal and no one knows he is a cannibalistic serial killer

2) He is a known criminal

Scenario 1:

Ring:

Bob would try and get his partner the perfect ring. Something that really fits their style. He could technically just ask them to go ring shopping together but I like to think that Bob likes surprising his partner. I also feel like he wants to prove to himself that he knows his partner inside and out. So of course, he knows what kind of ring they would want.

Proposal:

I think Bob would be the one to propose.

He'll probably take his partner out and try to recreate the first date and then ask the question at the end of the night or he might take his partner someplace that means something to him.

Bob has been waiting for this moment for a while. He didn't imagine ever getting this far. I feel like Bob would be very nervous to propose. Even though it has been brought up a few times, he's afraid his partner might have changed their mind and would say no.

Which would honestly make him devastated if his partner were to say no.

If timing is the issue, Bob is willing to wait until his partner is ready. He just needs reassurance that his partner still deeply loves and cares about him.

If his partner were to say yes, he would be so extremely happy. He'll pick up his partner and spin them around, kissing them sloppily and messily. And if they are in public, Bob would want to go home and celebrate immediately for being engaged to his partner. Probably by getting naked, in bed, and under the sheets.

Marriage:

During the big wedding day. Bob's partner's family will be there and so will Bob's parents and maybe a couple of other immediate family members. I like to think there are a lot of toxic/terrible people in Bob's family and so he doesn't really interact outside of his immediate family members that much, with a few exceptions. (Although, I think Bob's VA said that Bob's parents died in a car accident [it's always the car accidents man...] I don't really count that as canon unless Sr Pelo said it himself [which I'm not sure he did]. So I'm gonna ignore that bit.)

When he's standing at the altar, waiting for his partner. He's a nervous wreck. Messing with his tie, trying to distract himself while he's standing there shaking in his shoes. He promised himself he won't cry. Not in front of everyone.

When he sees his partner walking through the giant church doors, looking stunning in their beautiful wedding outfit, it took everything in him to not burst into tears. Instead, his face was flushed red.

I like to think that Bob would never leave his eyes off of his partner as they walk down the aisle and towards him. And the whole time, he is grinning widely as he stares at his partner in awe. Once his partner is standing in front of him, his smile never falters. He just can't help it.

From then on, it's exactly how Bob imagined it. He and his partner have been planning this wedding for a while. From the beginning to the end, it was everything that Bob dreamed of.

Scenario 2:

Ring:

Getting a ring would be sort of difficult. Since he can't just walk into a store and buy one. He is a known serial killer and cannibal after all. Getting a ring would take him a while. But once he finds that perfect ring. He's gonna get it for his partner. And that probably means killing someone to get the ring.

Proposal:

It'll be very similar to scenario 1, Bob will most likely be the one to do the proposal. And he would even straight up tell his partner that he will be the one to do it. When he pops the question, he's hoping his partner would say yes.

I think he would go and spill out his feelings for his partner. Telling them how he feels about them and that they were different from all the other people he met (killed).

If his partner were to say no (uhm why?), he would be pretty upset. He would probably constantly ask them why they won't accept it. Starting to feel doubt about the relationship.

At this point, I think he would just leave his partner, he won't kill them though because he loves them too much. He'll just leave because there's really no excuse to not get married. He couldn't have a real wedding. There's no burden of having a wedding because he can't have a typical proper wedding. The idea of a wedding to him is just promising each other forever and if his partner doesn't want that then the relationship is a bust.

If his partner said yes, he's gonna be over the moon, and just like scenario 1, celebrate it with his partner under the sheets.

Marriage:

Who needs the government to tell Bob who he is married to? His partner may not get all the benefits of being in a marriage but it's the idea of being married that counts

There would obviously be no big wedding because of obvious reasons. It'll be a discrete wedding, just between his partner and him. Bob and his partner would probably just exchange sentimental feelings with each other. Promising each other forever.
