Love

My friends and I slowed with the group of females. The fire was already ablaze, and we could make out the forms of the males. I stepped forward, bypassing the others that were hesitating lingering in the forest. With Esmae and Anna flanking me on either side.

My footsteps matched the beat of the drums, the beat of my heart. The males quieted as soon as we stepped out of the forest, some eyes widened in surprise, other's narrowed. Somewhere, a lone voice rose up, a wavering note almost drowned out by the drums.

I could feel him before I saw him, my mate, his eyes meeting mine for a moment. Looking away from him, I took up a place in front of the massive fire. Anna and Esmae on either side of me. I dropped my hips in time with the beat of the drums, the lone voice wrapping its way around my bones. I closed my eyes, enjoying the cool specks of snow landing on my face.

The low rumble of eager males could be heard as we began to dance to the beat. Performing a ritual that came from long before we lived in castles. I twisted my body, letting the music and the magic of the moment take over. Time became nonexistent, and I was only vaguely aware of the others crowding in beside me. Suddenly the beat stopped, and I opened my eyes to find my mate standing in front of me, his gaze dark and wicked.

"Hello, love." He rumbled, fingers skimming over my exposed midriff.

"Azrael," I rasped, my throat raw from breathing the icy air.

My mate's eyes darkened farther when I spoke, pupils dilating. The thought came to me then, a way to set his silver eyes ablaze. A familiar ritual that would speak to the darkest parts of him like it always did. A game of chase.

Beside me, Esmae was already being carried away by her mate, her shrieks of laughter carried away by the chilled breeze. Rumbles came from my otherside, but I couldn't catch the words. I was already ducking through the crowd, the enraged bellow of my mate accompanying me.

I darted through the trees, skidding on the frozen landscape. My breath panting out of me in harsh gasps.

Up.

The place where we had mind melting sex was up.Footsteps came from behind me, but I kept on, wanting to go back to that place before everything had happened. Before. I would go back to before.

With the moonlight comforting me I made my way to where I thought he had taken me that night. He wasn't far behind.

Just as the thought crossed my mind I was being pulled back into hard warmth. Teeth dug into my neck warningly.

"Az," I breathed, pressing back against him.

"Where do you think you're going?" He rumbled, pressing kisses against my neck. His cock was hard and heavy against my back.

"Just out for a nice moonlit stroll," I say drily, his answering chuckle heating core.

"You're playing a dangerous game, love." He warns, wrapping his arms around me to help stave off the cold.

"That's exactly what I like." I tilt my head up, giving him a naughty smile.

The faint sound of a male grunting sounded through the night, followed quickly by a breathy moan. Az tensed, his cock throbbing against me. The cold was getting to me now that I was still though. My toes are beginning to go numb. As if sensing I was getting too cold, or maybe because his own feet were freezing, my mate lifted me into his arms.

"Hot spring?" I asked hopefully.

"Of course," He rumbles, kissing my forehead before setting off in a similar direction to the one I was heading in.

"I love you," I pressed a hand against his chest, silver eyes meeting mine, "So much."

"I love you too," He clears his throat, focusing back on the terrain, "I don't want to think about what my life would be like without you, Aslin."
