My POV

Edward and I just couldn't come to the decision of leaving Gotham, but we made it pretty far from the GCPD and Penguin's house. We found a place that was a good amount of miles away and completely abandoned, yet also intact. Edward has been so sweet to me ever since we ran away and his other persona hasn't been scaring me at all. At times, he wouldn't be able to control himself or who he was, so I'd have to be brave and try to get him to remember without either of us getting hurt in the process.

One day though, Ed started to beat himself up and managed to get blood all over his green suit. "You really need to be more careful," I was trying to heal the bruises that were on his face. I used a cotton swab, but he kept wincing a little at the pain. "I know, I just don't know who I am anymore," he admitted. "Well, remember that you're my friend and that's all that matters," I told him and then took off his jacket to wash it.

I really do like his sense of fashion and wished I could have something just like it someday. When I came back, I noticed that he hadn't moved from his spot. "Are you ok?" I went to sit down beside him. "I've always wondered, how come you aren't afraid of me?" He asked. "I could never be afraid of someone that I care about," I answered him. "But, I've nearly killed you on some occasions," he confessed and looked away.

"You weren't in the proper mindset and you do know I have forgiven you. I was afraid of you then, but when you protected me from Penguin and all of those other bad guys, I knew you truly cared about me," I told him. He then looked at me and smiled. "You're the only friend I've got at this point, I knew I made the right decision to keep you alive," he said. "Would you mind changing your shirt?" I laughed at him, noticing the bloodstains on the white shirt and even on his tie.

"Alright mom," he laughed and went to change. I kept thinking to myself of how lucky I was to have a friend like Edward. But my thoughts were immediately interrupted when I heard a scream. "Ed? Are you alright in there?" I stood up and and slowly made my way there, hoping he would respond. But he never said anything. "I'm coming in," I said then opened the door. "Edward!" I shouted when I noticed him on the floor, bleeding out. I saw the knife still in his hand. "Oh no no no no, what do I do?" I held him and tried to ask.

"I can't call for help, you'll be arrested," I didn't know what to do. "He'll kill me.." Ed mumbled. "I won't let The Riddler do this to you," I stated. "Then you can join him," I heard his low voice again. With that, he tried to raise the knife towards me. I dodged all of his attacks. "Stop it, you need to fight him, get rid of him for good," I told him. "No.." he spoke softly. I could tell he was losing a lot of blood. "I have no choice," I then got up and headed to the phone and called for help.

Before I could say anything, I felt something sharp go into my neck. "Ow! What did you do!?" I looked over at him and saw that he grabbed for a tranquilizer gun. "What question can you never answer yes to?" I heard him try to ask his riddle. "Are you asleep yet. wai-" when I figured it out, the dart that was in my neck took full effect and it knocked me out. "You didn't need to do that," Ed said weakly to The Riddler. "I did, otherwise we'd be arrested!" He yelled back.
