Pay Back

Lisa's POV:

I listen as footsteps come closer to my bedroom door, then the door slams open, walking in is dad.

"Hey dad." I say, getting up from the bed.

I give him a side hug, he sits on my bed and I sit next to him. "Is it true that you want Adrian to invest in your company?" I ask.

I need to know everything, I trust my dad but Adrian again is now something else and probably he wouldn't even agree to invest in my dad's company

Who would ever change like that?

"Yes. Any problem?" my dad says.

"No dad I just wanted to know."

"There's nothing wrong with doing business with Adrian, that makes me remember one important thing..." he smiles.

"What?"

"We're having dinner with Adrian and other business men, who knows maybe you might like one of them."

This is the most weird moment I've had with my dad. I don't know why but I just don't feel comfortable to tell my family, particularly my dad about my love life. I'd rather keep it to myself. I don't trust them when it comes to that, they would always ask me about the guy I'm dating and if he's good enough.

I try to change the topic, "uh... Dad, I think I'll head to my office now, I'm sure Kelvin is already waiting for me." 

"Alright then, have a good day." he smiles as I smile back.

Melissa's POV:

I haven't said any word to my boss ever since I came here. I only managed to mutter a good morning when he arrived and I'm not even sure if he answered. He's very rude.

I hear him clear his throat, "you're going shopping with me." I keep my eyes on the laptop, ignoring whatever he's saying.

"Melissa, I am talking to you."

"Yes, you're talking to me sir, who else is in this room apart from us?" I say showing no expressions.

"Then why weren't you answering?" Adrian asks.

"I just answered you didn't I, sir?"

"Mind the way you talk to me, I can crush you in just a second. I don't have to keep reminding you of this, M's Becker." Adrian says, his face flushing with anger.

"I don't care, just do it." I respond. "Why do you always take your anger out on me?"

"Get ready we're going for shopping." Adrian's hoarse voice comes out as he walks out of the office and I groan in defeat.

Just by watching him, leave his office in anger makes me wonder what life has ever done to him, for him to be always arrogant, angry. He thinks he owns this world and he can treat people anyhow he wants to.

We arrived at our destination, and I keep following Adrian behind as he is walking forward.
....

"try these dresses on and show me how they look on you." he ordered handing me the dresses.

"huh? Why?"

"because I want you to." he says.

This time, I don't plan to start to arguing with him because I'll be the one to crush him.

I walk to the dressing room. The dresses are quite revealing, I'm not used to wearing such dresses.

I stand in front of Adrian feeling awkward, he only shakes his head and signals me to change into the others.
