Feelings about the unknown

Part 8

A few years earlier

Sam's POV

Brennen has been hanging around a lot lately, and every chance Colby gets he goes over to Brennen's. They even started a name together 'Brolby'. I am not jealous, but I think it is pretty f*cked up because 'Solby' was our thing. I think all of this to myself while I plan out a video for us to do.

I was thinking of a beer pong type of video where we do dares when we make it in the cups. "Hey babe, what you doing?" I hear Kat by my bedroom door. "Just thinking of a video idea." I say while staring at a notebook writing down dare ideas. "Can you help me write down dares for Colby and I?" I ask while looking at Katrina. "Yeah, I will. Is Colby coming back today from Brennen's?" I freeze and I feel my heart skip a beat. "Uh, yeah I believe so." I can feel my face getting red. I was so frustrated with Colby.

"Tell an opponent your biggest pet peeve about them." I read on the dare card. There is only one thing that comes to my mind when I read it. "That you started Brolby" I did not even hesitate. I shot the ball and made it into the cup. "Oh sh*t" I hear Colby repeat. I can not tell if he is upset or not. He is smiling, but he seems nervous. "Wait you actually don't like Brolby?" Colby asks me while looking straight into my eyes. I can feel my face getting red again. How does he not understand why I don't like it. "You replaced Solby, it made me sad" I say with a straight face to make Colby see that I was serious.

We continue the conversation and Colby looks at the camera that Katrina was holding "Solby is for real okay". I don't know why, but I felt my heart flutter. It made me happy to hear Colby say that. I know I am very possessive of his friendship, but no one else understands Colby like I do. We have been through so much together and I am not comfortable with anyone else. I mean we even did a prank on Katrina that Colby and I were sleeping together. Some may say it is weird, but that is just how our friendship is.

Kat's POV

After we got done filming the video for Sam, I could not help but to think about Sam's comment. I knew he was upset with Colby for distancing himself and I know he has been blaming himself for not reaching out to him. But it caught both I and Colby off guard that Sam had a problem with 'Brolby'. He has not told me anything about this and how upset he really was. I wonder what else he is keeping in.

"Hey babe, do you want to go to Stas's place with me tonight?" I ask Sam while hugging around his waist and facing him. "Ummm" Sam says too me. I can tell he is thinking about his answer. I continue to just look at him waiting to see what he says. He puts his hands on top of my wrists and holds them. "Probably not tonight. Colby and I were going to grab some food and go over some video ideas." Sam looks down at me and kisses my nose.

"Oh okay" I stop hugging him and take a step back. "Is that okay?" Sam looks at me and holds my hands. He seems concerned like I may be upset. "Yeah of course it is okay. I am just worried about y'all after that comment you made. I hope y'all will be okay." I look into Sam's eyes worried. Not necessarily for him and Colby, because they have been through a lot together, but because I can't help but feel like something else is going on.

"Oh, well everything will be okay. We joked about it and more likely we will talk about it more later. Don't worry okay. I will see you later tonight." Sam rubs my shoulders and I nod agreeing with him. We kiss each other and I start to get my stuff and leave. I look back and see Sam and Colby talking about what food to go and get. I am happy they are getting along still.
