Colby's POV

I stare at the road trying to keep my mind from the sleeping blonde boy next to me. I look at the GPS map that was located on the phone stand in the middle of the car.

'Take the exit towards 5th St/Lake Austin Blvd/Cesar Chavez St from TX-1 Loop N' I hear the GPS says in a low robotic voice.

I take the exit and see we are about 8 minutes away from the hotel. I sigh and look at the road, knowing I am going to have to wake up Sam. I lean back in the driver's seat and scratch the side of my head, feeling awkward and nervous about the soon-to-be interaction with him. I know I made him uncomfortable last night and I never want to do that to him again. I love him, whether that be as friends or as something else. I don't want to do anything that can cause harm to him. I think all of this to myself as I see the hotel peeking over the building as if it was beckoning us to come to it.

I stare at the building, engulfed by its beauty. While turning the corner into the parking lot with my eyes still on the building, I didn't notice that Sam was awake and sitting up. I look straight ahead to find a parking spot and in the corner of my eye, I see Sam stretch.

"I was just about to wake you up," I said still looking ahead and wanting to make things less awkward.

"How long was I out for?" Sam asks while taking the hood off his head.

"Uh, I would say about an hour or so." I parked the car and looked at him, I don't want to avoid eye contact anymore.

Sam nods at my response, "So... are you ready for this?" Sam asks while looking at me as well.

He has a soft smile, and my heart slightly skips a beat, not knowing if it was genuine or just because he doesn't want things to be awkward. I nod and give a smile back, wanting him to see that nothing needs to change between us. We both get out of the car and grab our bags to go check into the hotel. Sam is walking in front of me carrying two duffle bags on his shoulders. I scan him from behind, he was wearing dark grey pants that had holes in the knees. They were quite worn due to how much he wears them.

While my eyes were going up, studying every feature of his I noticed I got stuck on his butt. Nothing specific, just how much I like it. I noticed I was staring when Sam turned around to look at me, to make sure I was still following him to the front desk. I quickly looked down at the floor so that way he wouldn't think I was staring at him. I guess he thought I was upset or sad because he started walking beside me and glanced over at me.

"I think the front desk is right here," Sam says, and I look up to see a beautiful brown wooden desk with marble pillars on each side of it.

We walk up to the woman at the desk, ready to check-in. I gently put the bags down on the floor so I can take my wallet out. I handed the lady my driver's license so she could check for the room.

While waiting, Sam stands beside me, observing the stuff behind the desk.

"How much do you want to bet that the little girl ghost is going to talk to me?" Sam asked while looking at me with a smile on his face.

"Don't you mean get stuck in your ass?" Sam and I both chuckled at the response I had.

My heart begins to flutter from his laugh, I was scared that I would never hear that again.

"Hey now, we don't talk about that anymore," Sam says while his smile begins to grow.

Thank goodness everything is going well. Maybe things will be the same as they were before. Before I knew it the front desk lady came back handing me my driver's license.

"Everything checks out Mr. Brock. Here is your key." She smiles at us while handing me one room key.

I look down at it in my hand realizing that we will be staying in one room again, I guess Sam noticed this too because in almost complete unison Sam and I muttered "Fuck..."
