Arguing (And some more arguing)

Sophie's POV

"You want us to bring another human into our world," Bronte said. "It won't happen again."

"You brought Sophie's sister,"  Keefe retorted. "Why is Sophie always the exception it's not okay, oh but it's okay if Sophie's doing it, so much logic going on there."

"You do not speak to us like that," Councillor Emery said, raising his voice. "You're in no place to speak to us like that."

"We are done here," Councillor Alina said. "Leave us now."

Keefe swiftly turned away from the councilors and walked out the two grand doors with me behind him.

"I'm sorry I got so mad at you," Keefe said.

"It's fine, I would be mad too," I said.

"I'll see you," Keefe said.

"Where are you going?"

"To pick Camryn up."

"And bring her where?"

"To here, I could hide her good enough to stop the council from seeing her,"  Keefe said, raising his crystal up to the light to pick Camryn up.

"I don't know how Keefe is going to pull this off," Biana said, Fitz nodded in agreement.

"There's a lot of things that we've been able to pull off," I said. "That seemed impossible."

"Do you think we should help Keefe?" Biana asked.

"I don't know I've been in a lot of trouble with council, and Keefe's girlfriend is not the most friendly girl."

"Keefe has a human girlfriend?" Fitz asked.

"Yeah her name is Camryn," I said.

"I don't care if she's not friendly, I'm only going to help Keefe,"  Biana said. "So let's go help Keefe!"

"Could I talk to you, alone," Camryn asked.

"Yeah, sure," I said, taken aback. We walked to the corner of the room and sat down.

"You need to stay away from Keefe," She said guardedly. "I don't want anything more happening between the two of you."

"Keefe and I are nothing more than friends," I said. "You don't need to get involved with what's happening between us."

"Yes, I do because I'm his girlfriend," She said, but I ignored her and walked back over to Biana and Fitz.

"What did she say?" Biana asked.

"She said that I need to stay away from Keefe," I mimicked.

"What," Biana gasped.

"It's fine, nothing's going to change," I said, glancing over at Keefe looking annoyed while Camryn was talking to him. I was assuming that Camryn was trying to soften him up and make him not talk to me.

"I'm going to talk to Keefe," Biana mumbled as she walked over to Keefe. After a couple of seconds, Keefe's grin faded into a frown and a look of stubbornness. After a couple of minutes, Biana gave up and walked with her down over to us.

"Keefe was hardly paying attention to what I was saying, he was looking at Camryn with dreamy eyes," Biana said. We all turned over and looked at them but instead of what Biana described they were arguing. After not being able to listen to the arguing any longer Biana raised her crystal to the light and got us out of there.

We stumbled into the plain grass field and after a couple of steps fell onto the grass. The light leaping was getting harder and harder to travel by for reasons not even the council knew why, especially traveling to the forbidden cities, every leap made it a harder jump, making it riskier.

It was as if someone knew what we were doing and wanted it to stop. We continued down the path that would eventually get us to Havenfield. You could hear the animals just up the hill and see the sun starting to go down behind the house. We walked up to the house and it was oddly quiet, unlike most times at Havenfield, and Grady was outside helping the animals. I slowly let the door open, taking caution with every step. I took one step in and peered my head inside. I kept walking until I heard the slightest noise of the floorboard creaking up above us, immediately Biana, Fitz, and I looked up the same second a guy in a full black bodysuit did a parkour move and jumped off of the stairs. He dodged a punch from Fitz and kicked him in the back while Biana screamed and jumped on his back. I grabbed a bag lying on the floor and ran up and threw the bag upwards into his face. He fell to the floor but quickly got back up and threw us out of the way like rag dolls.

I tried to get up but my bones felt like Jell-O, Fitz was knocked out, and Biana probably felt the same I did. The guy in the bodysuit came up to me, pushed the hair off of my face, and spoke in a deep gruff voice.

"It is the girl," He said through his walkie-talkie. "The one you call Sophie Foster."
