Sophie's POV:

"So, I assume Sandor already told you about most of the features," Dex said, examining the bracelet.

"Yes, I did," Sandor said proudly.

"Okay, well like I said he said most of the features. Let me show you the other feature." He said. I looked over his shoulder and saw him gently squeeze the top button and the bracelet lashed out around Dex's body until he was covered in pearls that resembled...Body armor.

"Isn't this great?" Dex said through the mask.

"Yes, but how do you compact it back down?" I asked. He gently squeezed the button twice and it closed back down and he handed it back to me.

"This is because you always get hurt, and covering your body in armor that's almost indestructible is probably the best way," He said nervously.

"Thank you," I said.

"No problem, and if you ever need anything I could help, as long as it has something to do with technology."

"Okay," I said, walking with Sandor out to the front and coming back to Havenfield.

"I'll have to have you practice your fighting skills," Sandor said. "You're out of practice, and you'll need it in that clunky suit of yours."

"Not right now though, I have some things coming up," I said hastily.

"No, you can't delay when other people attack you, you could only control what you do," Sandor said. "So we're going to be practicing out in the backyard...Tomorrow."

We kept on walking until we reached the front door and went inside.

"I'll see you out on the field tomorrow," He said matter-of-factly and went up to my room to do whatever he did in there (I kind of didn't want to know). I went the opposite way and went up to the backyard where there was still some remaining practicing gear from the last time I practiced with Sandor. I made sure the bracelet was secure and practiced punching the dummy until my hands ached and the dummy was favoring the right side of his neck. I looked and my hands and saw that my right knuckle was bleeding, I'd deal with it later, I thought, right now I have bigger problems.

"Sophie, what happened to you," Grady asked inquisitively. "Tell me you didn't just kill some baddies and come back and say 'nothing happened'."

"Dad, nothing happened, I was just practicing my fighting in the backyard," I said.

"Well in that case," He said sheepishly and walked away. I felt a vibration in my pocket and saw that Dex was hailing me. I took it out of my pocket and answered it.

"Hello," Dex said through his grin. "Sophie, I'm sorry but, It's time, you have to do it."

"Dex," I started. "I don't-"

"You need to," He said, his smile fading. "Don't listen to me if you don't want to, but you can't keep these things a secret like this."

"Okay, your right," I said. "Thank you for hailing me."

"Yeah, no problem," He said. "See you sometime soon."

"Goodbye," I said glumly. I walked up the stairs with my shoulders slightly down and silently crying with only one thought in my head, SHOULD I REALLY DO THIS?

"What's the problem," Sandor asked, once again not minding his one business. "And don't say nothing, I could see that your eyes are red and you were crying."

"-It's nothing, It really is," I said. "I'm just going to go to sleep, you always say I get too little of it anyway. He couldn't argue with that.

I crashed onto my bed thinking that I wouldn't fall asleep but the drowsiness got the best of me as I fell into the world of dreams.

I thrashed and turned but was clamped to the ground by multiple shackles that were glowing red with steam. I looked around for anyone but there was no one. There was broken wreckage and rubble everywhere and fires going on along the outside of the room. I wasn't scared of any of this until I saw my reflection in a broken piece of glass, possibly a hand mirror. I woke up screaming.

Sandor was standing over me, or was standing over me until he got so scared he fell on the floor and hit the dresser.

"Had a nightmare?" He guessed. "Maybe that's why you choose not to sleep most of the time."

I knew that wasn't the reason but I didn't say that aloud.

"You actually slept a reasonably about for someone your age," He said. "You slept through the night, which means that it is time for us to go practice your fighting skills outside."
