Keefe's POV:

Neve in my life had I seen Sophie so happy. She could hardly contain her excitement, whether that was a good thing or bad thing I didn't know. Once we appeared in front of the white and blue building she nearly yanked me through the glass doors until we got to the front desk.

"Do you have your parent's name, ma'am?" The lady at the desk said.

"Yes, it's-Wait I have to go, I'll come back later," Sophie said, she pulled me back out of the building, except this time she wasn't as excited about it.

"I have to make sure I could say who my mom is," I said.

"Well, who is your mom?" I asked.

"You'll see," She said as she raised her crystal to light and grabbed my arm.

We appeared in front of a bright pink little cabin-ish house.

Sophie knocked on the door and...Oralie answered it.

I choked down a snort, the counselor who always wore pink, was Sophie's mom.

"Hi...Mom," Sophie said nervously, plucking out one of her eyelashes.

"Who is he?" Oralie said.

"I'm Keefe," I said.

"The boy who joined the neverseen?" She asked. I didn't like being referred to as 'the boy who joined the neverseen' I made one mistake and that's who I'm known as, but I answered her question anyway.

"Yes," I said.

"What's the problem," She said. Sophie looked around cautiously and whispered quietly.

"We have a problem, could we come in?" Sophie asked.

"Sure," Oralie said, swinging the door open. Inside the room was pinker than the outside. It made me think that if the store Pink thought they were pink, they'd be jealous. Everywhere you looked there was pink, and no, I didn't want to check if she died her hair pink under her hat.

We took a seat on the chairs across the desk from Oralie.

"What's the problem?" Oralie asked.

"...It's, about my dad," Sophie said. Oralie looked stunned for a second but she quickly recovered from her shock.

"What about him," Oralie asked.

"I saw him."

"Where'd you see him?"

"He found me, technically and he said he was Elwin."

"Okay, it's not good that you found out about this but...What do you want me to do about it?"

"Could I tell the people in the matchmaking office, that you're my mom?"

"I would have to quit being a counselor," Oralie said.

"Mom, please, this is all I've wanted," Sophie said sweetly.

"Fine, but only for you," Oralie said, then surprisingly hugged Sophie. "I'm happy for you Sophie."

Sophie looked as surprised as me like her mom had never given her a hug, which was probably true, and I could relate to that.

"Sophie, I'll do it tomorrow," Oralie said, sniffling. "Give me some time to pack up, and say goodbye to this place."

"Okay, mom," Sophie said awkwardly. We quickly walked out of her office (Not wanting her to change her mind) and appeared in Everglen.

"Are you going to tell Grady and Edaline?" I asked.

"I don't know, do you think they'll take the news well," Sophie said.

"I would tell them before someone else gets around to doing it, trust me, it's better for you to tell them in person," I said.

"Okay, thank you," Sophie said.

"No problem, anytime," I said as I raised my crystal to the light and appeared in front of my least favorite place...Candleshade.

Sophie's POV:

"Mom, dad, I have something to tell you," I said.

"What is it, honey," Edaline said. We gathered around the living room table and Edaline conjured a couple of plates of mallowmelt.

"...I know who my parents are," I said, Grady and Edaline turned to look at me with the isn't that obvious look. "I meant my biological parents."

It was silent for a moment until Edaline broke the tension.

"So...Isn't that a good thing?" She asked.

"Yes, but I don't know if I should still get my matchmaking packet."

"Why is that?" Edaline asked.

"Because-Because my mom is Oralie," I said.

"Isn't Oralie a councilor," Grady pointed out.

"Yes, and that's why she put her DNA into the project, she knew she couldn't have a kid 'the normal way.'"

"Is she okay with you telling the secret?" They asked in unison.

"She said do what I think is the right thing to do," I said. "'Follow your heart.'"

"Well then we'll give you time to think about it, we'll be upstairs," Edaline said. She and Grady walked upstairs.

I didn't know If I was going to go to the matchmaking packet building and say who my parents were, whether the workers would think I'm lying or bluffing. Anything but the truth, although I couldn't blame them, the councilors weren't allowed to have kids. I thought about Fitz, Keefe, Dex, and Biana. What would they want me to do?

Hello, Fitz thought.

Jeez, I thought.

Your thoughts were so powerful It was like a beacon, my mind just took me here...So what are you thinking about?

I know both of my parent's names-And who they are, I just don't know if I should get the matchmaking packets.

I-I think you should, by all means, do what your want, but why wouldn't you get your matchmaking packet?

I thought about what he said for a second before making my decision.

"Okay," I mumbled to myself and thought to Fitz. "I'm getting my matchmaking packet."
