Sophie's POV
I wiped the sand out of my eyes and tried to remember what that boy looked like. Because I knew I recognized his voice.
We fell into the deeper part of the water, the crystal thinking that was the best part of the water to put us in, and then we swam and the sharks started circling me, Tam, and Biana. Tam and Biana ran off, but there was no way I could run with the sand in my eyes while being exhausted. I got up off the sand and went to tell Tam and Biana what happened.

"That was Keefe who saved us? I didn't know he became a lifeguard," Biana said.
"Yeah, there's no way that was him," Tam chided in.
"I know it was him because I recognized his voice, and he ran the second he saw me," I said. "That proves he knew I would know him."
"Okay, but that still doesn't guarantee that it is Keefe," Tam argued. "What if he thought he shouldn't have done that and didn't want to be seen."
"We still should check it out," I said.
"Okay, fine I'll go with you," Tam said.
"So will I," Biana agreed.
"Let's go," I said. "His hotel is across the street from here."
We grabbed a couple of the things we needed and started speedwalking to where I last saw Keefe, with me in the lead.
We pushed past all the pedestrians and into the Marriot inn hotel and suites. We came up to the front desk and asked where is Keefe's hotel.
"Excuse me, I do not understand your question," The lady said. "There is no Keefe here, now that I think about he just checked out."
"Do you know where he went?" I asked urgently.
"All I know is that he brought this pretty girl with him out the door," She said. "Oh, and he went that way, deeper into the hotel."
"Okay..." Biana said.
"Okay, thank you for your help," I said, pulling Biana and Tam further into the hotel.
We went out of the back doors and out into the fresh air, there were loads of people but no sign of Keefe.
"There's no way we can search all of Hawaii," Tam said. "Let's just go back, Keefe will be fine."
"I get it that you don't like Keefe," I said. "But Keefe wouldn't give up on you, and you won't give up on him either."
"I'm only doing this for you," Tam said gruffly, I hope you know that. But I pretended to ignore him and kept looking outside for Keefe when the front desk lady came screaming with her arms waving like those tube men you see when a new store opens. She came to a halt and caught her breath.
"Normally...I don't do research for random kids, but I decided to look into it since it seemed interesting and I found a picture of a cute boy with blond hair, does that sound like him?" She asked.
"Yes," Biana and I said.
"Holding a girl's hand who had two pretty brown braids."
"He wouldn't be with any other girl," I mumbled.
"What?" She asked.
"Nothing, thank you for your help," I said.
"One last thing, he was spotted up north near the only restaurant up there."
"Thank you," Biana said sweetly.
We all quickly ran up the road until we saw the seafood restaurant across the road.
"Do think that's it," Tam said.
"It doesn't hurt to try," I said, looking from side to side and crossing the road. The whole restaurant smelt like seafood and the wind came in through the window-less building, Doesn't seem like somewhere Keefe would go, I thought.
Biana plugged her nose and Tam started breathing through just his mouth. We kept walking until I saw Keefe at the counter along with that girl that the lady was talking about, they were at the counter hurriedly ordering their food. I casually walked up to Keefe and tapped his shoulder, he jumped and turned around, trying to identify who it was.
"Sophie," He said, caught off guard.
"Wait you know this girl," The braided hair girl said with a look of disgust.
"Yeah, she's a friend," Keefe said. "Camryn this is Sophie, Sophie this is Camryn."
"Nice to meet you," Camryn said.
"Nice to meet you," I replied. "Keefe, we need to talk...Alone."
"Okay, Camryn just go sit at a table I'll be right there," Keefe said.
"Okay," Camryn said.
"Why'd you run off?" I asked.
"We both know that it was for the best," Keefe said.
"For the best!" I exclaimed. "No one else thought it was 'for the best'."
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that," He said.
"Are you coming back?" I asked.
"As long as I could bring Camryn with me."
"You know you can't bring a human with us to our world."
"It's been done before with your sister," Keefe said.
"Why don't we first go to ask the council and if not, we'll still bring her," I suggested.
"Fine," Keefe said grudgingly. "Let's go see the council."
